Can people see through walls or is there a live satellite fe

I entered the Shatter-Shield home and wanted to kill Nilsine.

Nilsine was sitting infront of the fireplace and her mother Tova was sleeping in the room next to us with no possible visual vantage point of Nilsine and me.

I talked to Nilsine and told her that a certain person is not happy with her.

Then I killed her with a dagger while standing... and got a bounty.

I looked to see if Tova was awake and had somehow seen me but she wasn't.

Then a guard rushes in.

Nilsine, Tova, and me were the only people in the house.

Tova was asleep and in another room making it impossible for her to have witnessed the murder.

It just doesn't make sense... I mean, do the guards have some sort of hidden camera planted on the Dragonborn or something?

Is Tova able to see through walls and use some sorta walkie-talkie to inform Guards of a murder?

It's the same with any murder that occurs.

If you were to snipe someone in Whiterun market place while completely hidden with all the right perks and buffs then the guards would still be alerted and go after you specifically even though no one saw you commit the crime.

It's the same with planting poison in an npc's pocket and killing them with people around but completely hidden.

They can't see when you put a chamber pot on their head so why would they see through walls?

Maybe you was being louder than you think while killing her.

Also, say you snuck up to the top floor of a shop and wasn't seen.

The merchant is on the bottom floor below you.

If you steal something while standing then the merchant will know and you'll get a bounty.

Makes no sense at all.

Almost forgot.

If you sneak in back of a Bandit and stand up (no moving, just standing) they will be alerted and attack you.

Yup.

But it shouldn't matter what I was using or how noisy I was being.

Tova was asleep and in a completely different room.

Not detected entering the shop and going up to the top floor.

Once you're on the top floor you aren't detected at all since they can't see you.

But if you're standing (just standing) and steal and item then they will be alerted.

Solution- Never stand when stealing.

That's my point.

It doesn't make sense.

Because my character slightly crouches behind some one, that makes them invisible?

But standing silently behind someone doesn't?

Weird logic.

i understand what you are saying but standing still doesnt mean your hidden. even when around a corner in the dark.

It should be hidden.

It just makes no sense that people can see you commit crimes when you're around a corner or behind a closed door just because you're standing.

Well, I guess it's not much of a stretch to believe that people get instant updates on your actions in a game where chickens can report you for committing crimes.

I'm surprised that no one has made a gamerpoop video featuring a chicken "bawking" and "Peeping" to a Skyrim Guard

Chicken: "Bawk"

Guard: "He threw little Timmy down a well and murdered farmer Pelgia? He will pay for this crime, thank you citizen!"

Chicken: "Baaaaawwk Bawk"

Skyrim's stealth is just completely worthless, pretty much. Psychic abilities and GPS locators for all.

It's worse in the wilderness. It's pretty much against any sort of role playing when a wolf (or anything else) detects you and instantly go precisely to your position no matter how stealthy you are. Totally violates the idea of a scout/stealth character. Bethesda, the enemy does NOT know where a stealth character is and that's the entire point to playing a stealth character, hello?!

Not to mention the animals with human intelligence that like to band together despite being natural enemies, or the prey animals that carefully watch the player and tease them to follow the prey to a predator (because, yeah, prey always run to predators... right...) ... oh, wait, I just mentioned these issues... :(

You're expecting way too much from a Bethesda's gameplay mechanics :lmao:

I think the sneak system actually works pretty good for what it's worth. It could be better, but on my thief, I do feel like I'm a master of the shadows.
