can't play OB?

Post » Sun Sep 18, 2011 9:13 am

today i saw a poll on here about "are you gonna play OB one last run" or something like that. i voted yes and ATTEMPTED to play the game. i played for about 2hrs and got discouraged because all of the new SKYRIM videos and info just make OB seem like it BLOWS...
i tried to get in it, but i just can't!
is anyone else having oblivion-tile dysfunction? :S

I got Oblivion a long time ago and have played it through many times. I did have a similar experience with Morrowind, though. I tried to get into it, but in the end, I just don't like it at all.

Hell, I'll try Oblivion again. I just beat Arena for the first time about two weeks ago, which was the only loose end of the series I had to complete. Might as well try an entire play through. Daggerfall will probably take me the longest. Morrowind has quite a long main quest though. Oblivion could probably take me a day or two if I really rush through.

Edit: Well, to stay more on topic, yes I could still get into Oblivion. I could get into any game in the series.

I can still get into both Morrowind and Oblivion, yes. Although I did install some new mods into Oblivion for a new experience, just because I've been playing it so much recently.

Yeah I couldn't play Oblivion anymore since Fallout 3 came out... I've been stuck with either guns or generic rip-off RPG's since 2008.

Yeah same here, it's not because i hate oblivion, it's because i played it way to much over these past years.

I'm in the same situation as you, but for all games.

same thing happened close to OB's release. no games interests me more than an hour, even games i was deeply into.

it's my pre TES release gaming funk. gonna last till skyrim.

This is pretty much where I am too. I was pretty deep into a couple other games,
but lately, I can't seem to play any of them for any extended period of time. I keep
coming back to the forums to see if there might be some new screenshots/info
video/ANYTHING. I fully expect this to last until 11.11.11. Just the way it works.

least it's better this time around. pretty confident the game won't be delayed, that made it worse for OB.

(Oblivion's delay from first quarter 06 to second quarter was learned in late October 05, hence my confidence they won't delay 8 weeks from launch)

I made a Khajiit battlemage not too long ago after having not played Oblivion for 2 years. I find it really fun to level and start from scratch again with this race/class I never tried before. It's much more fun than continuing my assassin.

I'm the same way. I really want to play Oblivion but I can't get into it anymore. I actually uninstalled it the other day and deleted all my mods. When it comes to TES, I only have eyes for Skyrim these days.

Oblivion is my favorite game of all time and it certainly doesn't blow. :P

I've never played as another race and I've been thinking about making a character and playing as something other than Breton just to pass the time...see how it goes. My favorite part of these games is the early time when you're building the character up. Play whatever is fun...there are lots of games to play. :)

I recently did a purely vanilla run through of the game only handling the Mages/FIghters guild quests, the Arena (boring), and the main quest, got myself to level 36 and stopped.

I finally got around to beating the main quest recently, and I plan on playing in the Shivering Islands before Skyrim comes out. It's still fun to me, even with my hideously overpowered character at this point.
