Can we please get a way to tag lock outfits?

Post » Sat Feb 20, 2016 11:40 pm

I have a combat outfit, a charisma outfit, and a crafting outfit. And of course my companions all have combat outfits / gear.

At the very least, just as we can hot-key individual weapons, can we please get a way to group items of clothing as an outfit, with the following abilities:

1. For our player-characters, be able to group items of clothing into one or more outfits

2. Select and quickly put on an outfit, reducing the tedious chore of changing clothes

3. Allow me to lock / unlock an outfit to my inventory

4. Prevent me from accidentally removing an item from one of my locked outfits from my inventory (which I do a lot when emptying my loot)

5. OPTIONAL: Allow us to lock the armor, weapons, ammo & aid for our companions, so we can do a "take all" to get all the stuff from their inventory, without removing all the gear we want them to keep

I use some of my hotkey slots for certain non-weapon/medicine gear.
I have some set for combat gear, and some for charisma gear.

For companions...well...it is what it is, I guess. ;)

I use hot keys too, but this is kind of an extension of what's already there. I hate changing clothes because it's so tedious. And I hate having to be so super careful when dumping my loot to make sure I don't get rid of something I want. I just wish this part of the game could be made a little easier.

I think something like the "loadouts" in the game Defiance would be nice to have.
But, I doubt we will ever see such a thing in any Beth game.

Maybe a mod could do it though?

I just know that I wish on a daily basis that I had the ability to quickly swap outfits, as well as locking certain items in my inventory (and my companions' inventories) so I can do a mass dump / pull of all non-essential items. To me, this would be a huge benefit so I could spend more time playing the actual game, and less time playing "don't accidentally remove that item".

It would be nice to have an "apparel lock" so that, whilst you are scrapping ten sets of raider/gunner armour from your latest expedition, you don't end up accidentally scrapping your own armour and clothes...

Same for weapons... doh....

I'm right there with you, Vagabond. It's something I've been wanting from early on. I don't understand why they didn't include something like that. Didn't any of the testers mention it?

+1 +1 +1 for all these ideas, outfit options and/or the option to quick select multiple clothing items in one slot would be great, since I'm constantly changing outfits from high intelligence to high charisma to armor, and lock options are a great idea to speed up scavenge drop offs!

Another idea to help scavenging drop offs would be a "sort by time acquired" so then you just unload the top items on the list until you get to an item you recognize and stop. Feel free to take this idea from me Bethesda for your next patch/DLC. I won't ask for royalties :)

I think I spend 2/3 of my game play playing the inventory game (admittedly some of that is choosing what armor/weapons to upgrade for my next quest). Its pretty depressing actually. My wife thinks its the most boring game ever, cause she just sees me sorting through inventory all the time.

I agree OP, collective outfit piece grouping is something that is definitely needed in the game, and I never see it talked about. What bothers me most is having to laboriously switch back and forth from battle gear to Charisma clothing for persuasion, or the Hazmat suit for high rad areas.

You should be able to group, name and store at least 3 sets of clothing. That way when you have limited carry space, you can quickly swap an outfit wherever it's stored. I'm already using all my hotkey slots for weapons and aids.

All those would get a yes from me, hopefully they add them in as part of one of their free updates.

Vagabond.....that is a great idea which I have thought of also. I believe that Bethesda games all have the same weaknesses when it comes to this issue.

Changing clothes has always been a weak point in the game along with loot storage and placement of your objects in the game. Difficult and tedious comes to mind when dealing with this. I wish they would spend some time fixing this in all their games.
