It is possible, you just have to find the right key for it. I fight all the time with these problems with my Finnish keyboard. The question mark is the underline and so forth...

I think shift+alt should change the keyboard properties between some international and customed, or something, but at least that doesn't work in-game.

Thanks for your reply, Archmagister Nelacayne, you've jogged my memory - I purchased my current copy of GOTY while living in New Zealand. It's the British edition - all 3 games on one single DVD. Does this mean its default keymapping assumes a UK standard keyboard? Or would this even matter? The apostrophe appears to be in same location on both the US and UK keyboards... Hm.
