Can't reach...

Post » Wed Nov 14, 2012 9:34 pm

Not sure if this is asking for a cheat, but at the risk of sounding completely stupid - be nice, I haven't played an RPG of any sort since D&D 'Eye of the Beholder' - how do I reach a chest I've found jammed in a corner without enough headroom to get close enough to bring up the 'purse' (or whatever) icon?. Tried 'crouch/sneak' but still can't get there....

to date, TES games haven't had a "crouch" feature in them. So there is no way to get under objects unless your hit box physically fits. So that leaves you with only 2 possibilities.

1. There's another way to the chest.
2. It is a static object and not a chest at all.

I'd have to guess it is a chest thats inside a fort inside the small hole in the wall thats more oval like a well of some sort, the same hole can be found in the dark brotherhood sanctuary.
If you can't reach it, then you can't reach it. :D

Thanks for the quick responses!

@ Echonite : OK - 'Sneak' - but the back-of-the-manual Gamelpay Controls calls 'Ctrl' "Crouch/Sneak"...

@ Dark Hound - nope, it's -erm- elsewhere!

Anyway I Got to it eventually - about ten seconds on the second try after spending 1/2 a day earlier. The purse icon showed up a fair way from the chest itself, then an easy lock-pick and the search yielded a whopping 7 gold! It was in such an unlikely location I expected an Easter egg at least! LOL. Or maybe it wasn't 'unlikely' and I have to stop running everywhere and start walking and paying more attention!
