Thanks, i play 1024x768 resolution.
So that shouldn't be hard to handle.

Indeed, you'll probably play it on high at such a low resolution :)

That should run it absolutely fine. You may want to upgrade to a 6870 though if you want to play at high graphics levels.

Nah, a hd5770 will hit high.

People kind of overestimate what is needed to RUN crysis. It's a million miles off what is needed to MAX (4xAA, very high, 1920x1080) crysis :)

With the relatively low resolution soul's PC will be running high in crysis 2. It'll also be a million miles ahead of the console version (low/bit of medium).

Yeah Except I'm on limited cash. I can possibly afford Crysis 2 though.

Yeah I run crysis at high pretty well with about 30-40 fps. But you never know with these next gen games. Lets pray Crysis 2 is optimized.

They are about the same price and video cards have good resale for the used market.

You could most likely sell your 5770 and pick up a 6870 for no more than $50 tops out of pocket.

Heck, I am selling off my GTX 285 this month and it still has $200 resale on it even though there are two generations ahead of it, which will allow me to get a very nice mouse and mousepad before Crysis 2 comes out. Its all about the smart budgeting of your parts and knowing when to sell it. ;)

Even the 8800GT sells like hotcakes, and that barely runs games anymore.

Overclock your processor or upgrade it, you have an absolutely crazy bottleneck on that GTX 480...

I suggest the Core i7 950 upgrade, or to a Phenom II X6 1055T. If you cannot afford either of those platform upgrades, atleast overclock that processor as much as possible...

Well, I'll certainly look into it in that case. I just got this rig in august.

For Crysis that rig is absolutely fine. E8500 is not too bad, and Cryengine has always seemed to favor dual core.

Crysis has so much graphics Eye candy you can always load your gpu to be on par with your cpu.

I have seen sooooo many "can my rig run Crysis2" and ONLY once have I seen a rig in these threads that could not actually run it.

With my custom config, I can run Crysis at high(with some ultra high shaders) at 1920x1080
at about 30fps which is fine for singleplayer.

IGNORE THE RECOMMENDED SYSTEM SPECS.

Crysis 2 is mostly urban environment. Compared to the jungle of Crysis1 there are WAY less polygons be rendered on screen. Crysis 2 will be easier to run than Crysis1 solely because of level design.

My rig is E6700 (the very first generation core 2 duo) @ 3.4ghz
Nvidia 8800gts 512.

What I'm saying is that his processor is putting a huge bottleneck on his video card and restricting it from being used to its full potential.

Anyway, your system is ancient anyway and will barely run Crysis 2 well. ^-^

I already overlocked my processor. From 3.16 Ghz to 4Ghz on air cooling.
P.S. sorry for my english))

The sandy bridges are flawed right now and are being recalled actually... I would just wait for the ivy bridge release in Q1 2012. :)

I saw that. They've been working on that for years and its screwed up in a month.

Off topic: Nice avatar there.

Oh no its fine. It just may cause confusion. Although, yours is a bit smooshed. Instead of resizing and then cropping it to 80x80, you must of only re-sized it?

I don't get it,why you people worry when you have 200 gt or gtx series and intel proccesors...i have a 250gts,amd anthlon 64 5600+ and 3 useless gb of ram and in crysis 1 i get 20-30 on high at 1440/900.
I get even more than 30 fps on custom singleplayer maps.
30 fps feels ok to me,it's not that good but it's not really bad either, considering the "power" of my rig...

Hey guys I've been running into some problems with my system lately, it's not gaining much performance at all in CrossFire mode compared to single card.

Phenom II X4 955 @ 4.0GHz
4X2GB DDR3 1333MHz
2XHD5850 @ 840MHz
Rosewill RX850 PSU
Windows 7 64bit

I tested the performance in Crysis Warhead and I got 60FPS with single and 66FPS with CrossFire, and while testing for minimum frame rates, I got 33FPS for single and 39FPS with CrossFire. But in 3DMark Vantage I got 15,000 with single and 22,000 with CrossFire, so appearantly it works there. I then tested the performance in a few other games, Bad Company 2 did not show any performance gain at all, GTA 4 also showed no significant change.

I've just replaced my motherboard from a x16/x4 to a dual x8/x8 PCI Express, I don't think the x8 slots can possibly be bottlenecking the system by more than 5%. I play my games at 1280x1024, it's the highest resolution my monitor will reach, so that may be where the bottleneck is. People are saying that because my resolution is low, the system stresses the CPU more than the GPU, so my twin 5850's are jogging in the park while my Phenom is on full blast afterburner. They say that if I can turn up the resolution, the system will stress the GPU more, and allowing a higher frame rate. This doesn't make any sense to me though, for all I understand higher resolution yields to lower FPS.

Can anyone suggest what I can do to further test the system or improve my CrossFire performance?

Do you think I can max Crysis 2 with better luck than I'm getting in Crysis Warhead?
