Can it run on ultra?

Post » Fri Sep 16, 2011 7:28 pm

Should my pc be able to run crysis 2 on ultra???

Intel i7 2600 3,4 ghz
10G Ram
Geforce 550 GTX TI
2 Tb harddisk
Windows 7 home premium 64 bit

Im running it on high settings now for it to run perfectly smooth...
On extreme its still playable but with a little bit of stuttering sometimes...

Oh and my pc fan is making alot of noise im getting that fixed tomorrow may that improve the performence aswell??? Or can i overclock something to run it on ultra?

your gpu is not made for ultra-settings in crysis 2.

Depends on resolution but not one on it's own really and definitely not past 720p.

But if you got a sli compatible motherboard then two 550 ti's would probably be just as good as a 560 ti even better in some cases.

Ah ok thats to bad :/ ah well anyways high settings are running just fine and i dont see much of a difference in graphics...
Are the high settings from crysis 2 comparable to the max setting of black ops for example?

And i know this is gonna be off topic but any idea if my pc will be able to run bf3 on high settings?

Like I said if you got an sli compatible mobo then chuck a second 550 ti in there with it. That should give you more than enough for most games and BF3 won't be as frame hungry as this game but it will still need some half decent gpu power to run smoothly on max settings.

No you wont be able to with that unfortunetely, it only has one PCI-Express 16x slot:

1x PCI Express x16 (Occupied)
3x PCI Express x1 (2x Occupied)
1x MiniCard (Occupied)

The only way you can upgrade graphics is buying one single faster card. I'd recommend thinking of upgrading to something like a 560 ti and above or even something equivalent on the AMD side of the fence if you want to max out a lot of future games like bf3. Of course your single 550ti will still handle games most games on lower settings though for a while.

Whatever settings don't lag you, you should be fine on extreme maybe you can turn something on ultra in the advanced settins but objects and shaders will kill your frame rates.

No

1. You only have one PCI-E 16x/8x slot

2. To SLI you need a card from the same series i.e. gtx 5xx with another gtx 5xx or a gtx 4xx with another gtx 4xx, not a gtx 5xx with a gtx 4xx.

Hey there, This is my setup that I am running, I started playing this with 1 EVGA GTX 570 installed, and I could play at 1366 X 768 at 120hz on medium settings perfectly, but anything higher and I start to notice FPS drops. Popped in my second GTX 570, and I can run it on my Max resolution for my monitor which is 1680 X 1050 at 120hz on Ultra settings and it runs perfectly. Here is my OC.net sig rig.

CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T BE @4GHz
Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth 990FX
Graphics Card: SLI'ed EVGA GeForce GTX 570
Memory: Kingston Hyper X Blu 4gb ddr3 (2X2gb)
Hard Drive: WD Caviar Black 1TB
Power Supply: Corsair HX750W Modular PSU
Display: Samsung SM 2233RZ
Case: HAF 932
Speakers: Logitech Z623
Mouse: Razer Naga
Mouse pad: Steelseries
Keyboard: Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Keyboard 7000
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium X64

Besides waiting for the servers to come up, I am looking to find some people to play online with. I am yet to get online, because I got the game today. But I have been loving single player so far.

Sorry, I forgot they label it High, Very High, etc. I meant "Very High" Although, I am sure many consider "High" to be the "Lowest" setting, so I just referred to Very High as Medium. Sorry, regardless, I had gone through all the settings running a single 570 and came out to that with the other specs I stated. Hope I cleared myself up.

Dual core 3.0
3 GB RAM
