Can we save perks for later?

Post » Tue May 03, 2011 6:12 am

In Fallout 3 what made me mad was that if you didn't like any of your current perk option there was no way to save your perk for later. This was especially a problem because you only got perks every two levels. In Skyrim, since there's so much perks to choose from and there all skill based, it's not as likely that you would not find something to spend your perk point on every level up, but you never know. I would like the ability to save perk points. Now this could easily be exploited, so if they added this you should only be able to save it tell the next level. Think of it as a deferment or something. What do you peoples think?

Fallout 3 had perks every level
NV had it every other
Skyrim will have it at every level, and they may not all be skill based, we dont know if they actually have requirements, and if you are not high in that skill then why would you need a perk for it anyway?

You're making assumptions on something that NO ONE knows virtually anything about. Calm down, people. Breathe.

I voted yes. although I think it could be exploited such that perks that have skill requirments could all be selected once every thing is maxed out.

I am pretty sure the perk system is going to be exactly like Fallout's and if it isnt then it will be slightly different

If it works exactly like Fallouts system in every way I'm not going to buy the game. Most of the perks in Fallout were either stupid or useless, and the others had nothing to do with skills. That's one of the main reasons I would have liked a way to save perk points in FO3. Hmm, I can either became a cannibal, or have the ability to make people explode with a pool cue . . . I think I'll pass.

This.
And I think I heard that you can take some perks multiple times to make them better, so you would have an option anyway....

Either way, we don't know anything and probably won't until E3, or *gasp*...LATER. :cryvaultboy:

I never had any reason to save FO3 perks til later - and, honestly, it would have been unbalanced. The whole point of having perks that only unlocked at higher levels was that 1) you only got them later, and 2) you couldn't get all of them because you only had a couple perk slots left. Deferring a choice until later isn't a good idea.

(In FO3, when the newly unlocked perks were ones that I didn't care about, I'd go back and grab more of the low level ones that I could still use. Like Thief, or Gun Nut. Loved those skill bonuses.... of course, once you hit 10-12, there were plenty of perks to choose from, so....)
