Honestly, for me asking this is like asking "can I make my Katamari roll on stuff and not make them stick?". You're a Dragonborn, possessing a dragon soul inside you. That thing probably attracts other dragon souls like a magnet! So if you don't want to absorb it, don't kill the dragon! You'll have to deal with the consequences of that decision however...
