Can Some Explain Levelled Animation?

If you have a Blade Skill of 100, you get the forward thrust animation (I think), same goes for hand-to-hand too. As you progress through the levels, you get side-attacks and backward knock-backs etc and these reflect in the animation.

However, when you damage a skill (i.e. through jail time) how come the animations still look the same?

I wanted to change the animations to get the uppercut effect back that I had (in hand to hand) before level 100. So I damaged my hand to hand skill by 1 pt so it's 99. Yet the animations still reflect as if I were on 100.

1) Why is this?

2) Can I get my old animations back via scripts?
