From the looks of it this looks like TF2 to me Idk why it just does. Can some one explain to me what exactly the multiplayer is or link me a vid. Also the gamestop pre order bonus for this is bad ass. Also I won't have any friends getting this no friends on xbox at all

Single player and Multiplayer are the same. 2 different sides, Resistance and Security. Objective based, 8vs8, friends or strangers or bots (I think bots fill empty positions, maybe that depends on what game type, single - coop - multi). Friends (And strangers I think) can jump Into a Free position at any time, no waiting till end of match.
Choose any role you want, Solider - Medic - Engineer - Operative. Switch between them at command Posts , Kill ppl, complete objectives, earn EXP etc..
You Can keep up to 16 Characters, Can't switch between them tho, must exit out of multiplayer then select different one (I think).
Good Character/Weapon customization, Different choices depending on Side.
When Creating a Char you choose their side. (It's not random, If you Char is Security you will always be on security team.)
Level Up and unlock more things like body types, abilities etc..
Use that SMART system to get around (Parkour)

Here are some vids showing gameplay, not so much explaining the multiplayer but showing.

EDIT: If you can't find the answers your looking for in the links, Please ask some more specific questions about what you want to know.

Singleplayer: Storyline, you play with bots.
Cooperative: Same storyline, you play with friends (online) versus bots.
Multiplayer: Same storyline, you play with friends and strangers vs. friends or strangers. When someone leaves, a bot will jump in to keep the teams balanced. (Can be turned off I think)

That's pretty much all basic info you need to understand the difference between SP, Coop and MP.

You don't *have* to play the storyline. You can just choose to play individual maps.

Yes, you're right, I said it the wrong way. I mean that you play the same maps.

I'm pretty sure you can swap characters between games/matches (For a different build or side or specialization if you do that)

Side doesn't matter, each of your 16 characters can play BOTH sides with a different look. You just keep your stats, weapons, abilities, body type, ... Only your clothes and objectives change.
