I want to know how the Imperial Hierarchy works in Skyrim? Obviously it is under the Emperor. But how is it subdivided? Is there a Duke reigning over the providence? And are their counts in charge of counties? Basically I want to know their feudal hierarchy system? In Skyrim specifically? but also over the whole Empire?

Actually, the High King is dead. You're right about the Jarls, though.

Yes, but he said Emperor. As he was referring to the leader of Skyrim. So I just stuck with Emperor. Jarl's are like Governerors of the states in the US

medieval.... Not mid-evil. Not like the world started going through an "evil" period and there was a middle part... "medieval" is neo-latin(or olde english) and it literally means "middle-old-primitive".

Skyrim is divided into Holds, each of which is ruled by a Jarl. The Jarls anwser to the High King of Skyrim who in turn pays tribute to the Emperor. Cyrodiil has counties that are ruled by counts. The Elder Council is an asembly that acts with the athority of the Emperor to make laws an run the Empire. The political makeup of the other provinces is less clear. High Rock is divided into 3 kingdoms. Hammerfell I am unsure of. The Summerset Isles and Valenwood have seperated from the empire and so has Elsweyr is divided into independent city-states and Blackmarsh has conquered morrowind.

Jarl was a historical title used in Scandinavian lands. A jarl was of similar rank to an earl or count.

So basically like the Counts is Oblivion I guess. And is the whole providence governed by a Duke (who has power over all of the Jars)?

If it's anything like the viking society they're inspired from, it might be something like this but more downsized;

High King-rules all of Skyrim

Jarl-Rules the separate holds of Skyrim

Hesir-local lordings like say a village or small town.

Freemen

Thralls-slaves or indentured servants.

No. Jarls answer to the High King who rules all of Skyrim. And he is dead so the Jarls are trying to vote for someone to be king.

So the High King is basically the equivalent of a Duke I guess? And is he under the emperor? or is SKyrim not in the empire?

The High King answers to the Emperor with tribute for social, cultural, and economic autonomy. When he dies, the Jarls or Counts that rule the nine holdings of Skyrim, compete to become the next High King. Outside of a few laws and traditions the High King is obligated to follow and enforce as part of the Empire, Skyrim society is probably like on how I described it above.

Just like the counts answered to the Emperor.

It's exactly the same thing, just different names.
