Can someone clarify, cross faction guilds and your alliance.

Hello, was trying to google a quicker answer to this but had no real luck.

I know that player guilds can be made up of all the alliances (Ebonheart/DC/Dominion) however how does this affect PVP?

For example, say your guild has chosen the Dominion, but your character is in the Ebonheart Pact. So when you go to PVP will you be fighting for the Ebonheart Pact or the Dominion? OR do you get two choices, and get to choose two separate campaigns, a guild campaign and your own personal one?

Thank you.

1. Your account joins guilds, not your character. In other words, if you join a guild, all your characters become members of that guild.

2. Your character can only participate in PvP with a guild whose allegiance is the same as your current character's faction. For example, a DC character can start a guild with its allegiance pledged to AD, and that DC character won't be able to PvP with that guild. However, if the player creates an AD character, he'd be able to PvP with that guild created by his account. Another example: let's say you have 5 characters, and only 1 of them is AD. If your account joins an AD guild, only that AD character can PvP as part of the AD guild.

3. Your account can join 5 guilds.

GhoXen,

#2 may have a pretty significant effect on my guild. Could you please provide a link with the official info you found on this?

Thanks,

NP

Consider this generally from the ESO Support page https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1276:

That applies in AvA too.

If you pre-purchase and get the Explorer's Pack then you can be another race and join that Alliance so it's important for a guild that wants to group/ PvP together that they do this at the start.

If you are in a guild that allies with , say, AD...is there a chance that your DC character could end up pvping against your own guild?

lunamoonraker,

Thank you for the link and the info. Perhaps I'm missing some crucial bit or my brain's just not caffeinated enough yet. Will people who've pre-ordered and have the "any race, any faction, any time, anyway…" playing a race that's not canonically a part of a faction be able to PVP with a guild in said faction? My guild's based in the EP but I've got friends and guild mates who are playing non-EP races, i.e., Orsimer, Imperials, etc. Will they be able to PVP with us or will they have to play against the EP races in the guild?

Who ever creates the guild determines with which Alliance the guild is affiliated. In other words, a guild created by someone in AD affiliates that guild with AD. Once a guild chooses a campaign (which I'm admittedly fuzzy about the process), guild members (which is based upon account and not character) in other alliances are prevented from joining a PVP campaign against their own guild(s).

They'll be in your faction's PvP as long as they're playing in that faction, regardless of race.

Thank you BSparrow. You wouldn't happen to know how one chooses faction and race in the pre-order character creation menu would you? I've seen the vids with races specified under their respective alliance, but haven't seen anything regarding making characters with "any race, any alliance" in place.

Cheers,

NP

If it's like the last beta, then it's simply a matter of the races not being locked to an alliance. They're still sorted under that column in the same manner, but you can pick alliance and race seperately.

In the last beta, I accidentally ended up with a Bosmer in DC that way. Serves me right for not paying attention.
