Can someone explain how the pip-boy works for fitting phones

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 4:44 pm

Just found out that my Note 3 will not meet the specifications, which really bums me out because I don't have any other smartphones lying around and I'm not looking to spend $50 on one just to use the pip-boy.

I don't want to have to cancel it, so I was wondering if I could use my limited engineering abilities and possibly make the thing fit my note 3. Thing is, my note 3 is just barely too big according to the specifications, maybe I could stretch the thing farther....I don't know exactly how it works...

As you can see I'm pretty desperate here, i'm running out of solutions and I've ALWAYS wanted a real life pip boy. Anyone know what I should do

Not much you can do if you won't/can't purchase another phone that fits in the Pip-Boy. I would still keep the CE, but that's me. . .I don't plan on using mine even though my phone will fit.

I'm hoping that the app will also be compatible with the iPod touch or something like that so I can pick up a used one and use it only for my pipboy

If it is slightly too big, a Dremel Moto Tool maybe able to grind off the plastic that you need to. If you need to build a frame to hold your phone, then local well stocked hobby shops (as opposed to a craft store) carry plastic materials that could make a new frame out of.

I am sure there will be hacks all over Youtube on how to make the thing fit a larger phone in a presentable manner.

I hope so as I possess a Note 3 myself, too.

It's really disappointing that Phablets are too big for it...

A unfortunate side effect of Beth decision to keep the pip boy as true scale to the in game model as possible.
