Can someone please break down how the campaign will work?

Post » Sun Apr 17, 2011 4:30 pm

I have read almost everything relating to this game including other posts and the compendiums and it's still hard for me to understand how the campaign will work. I apologize if there has been a post before on this but I searched and I didn't really see anything relating to my question. How exactly does the campaign work? Is there a normal campaign mode? Or are all the modes the same, with the running around in an area doing missions and such? Again, I apologize if this has been posted before.

same modes there's only one mode -Campaign- i've heard there's different variations of said mode like challenge mode but there isn't any CTF or TDM i'm not sure if there's difficulty settings i assume so ,not sure if it's just different missions or a continual story line.

what i do know-both sides can join or leave any time, missions depend on what team your on,lose= Mission Failed than it continues same thing for wins.(Mission Completed) this is all i know sorry if it isn't much

Ok I get it so basically, the losers retry the mission and the winners move on. So what exactly happens if you beat the campaign and you just want to keep playing the multiplayer? Do you just have to keep playing the same stage all over again?

I have heard you can choose to play through the campaign start to finish in multiplayer (winners move on the the next mission, losers repeat), or you can have "free play", which brings players together on a randomly selected mission, then upon game finish, everyone goes their separate ways to another randomly selected mission.

There's campaign mode where you play the missions from one factions standpoint, in order one after the other, and needing to succeed on a mission in order to proceed to the next.

There's freeplay where you can pick a mission out of sequence. Probably not random on Console, certainly not random on PC as you can use a server browser to select the server you want running the map with the options you want (FF on or off, enemy highlighting on or off, matchmaking on or off, etc.)

There's stopwatch (aka competition mode) where two teams play the same map, first as attacker and then again as defender, attempting to beat the other teams time to determine the winner.

The thing they all have in common is they all use the same "objective mode" which everyone else has described already. In other words, they are all pretty much the same type of game play.

You can play the campaign the way you want. Singleplayer, Coop, Mutliplayer. Period.

(And you can play Stopwatch or Freeplay, of course. Which are again Singleplayer, Coop and Mutliplayer. And Challenges which are Singleplayer.)
