Can someone retexture this doorjamb?

Post » Mon Sep 06, 2010 8:44 am

Can someone change the wall texture of the Static: in_c_djamb_plain_square so that the wall has the rich texture instead? It's odd that the construction set only has the arched rich doorjamb and not a square rich doorjamb.

Basically, I want the static on the left to look like the one on the right. Can the swirly designs on the arched wood frame be put on the top horizontal wood frame too?

Oh, taht is easy, I could retexture it for you, but I allways get problmes with texture paths somehow. :/ If you want to give it a try yourself, download NifSkope, Open the model in nifskope, (the model is on the TES CS cd) and change the texture, which is also in tes cd. Save it and you are good to go, only thing, you will have to open that model in CS.

Alas, it won't be that easy - the models have different UV maps, making the textures stretch badly and look http://i768.photobucket.com/albums/xx325/karpik/beztytuu.jpg?t=1279196808

i'll give it a swing tonight. i know how to edit uv's. as far as texture paths, the easiest way is to in nifskope you make sure all texture paths start with textures\. any higher up than that is not needed. basically. if you have c\morrowind\data\textures\whatever.dds. just shorten to textures\whatever.dds. and if you use a subfolder you have to start with textures\. example; textures\x\whatever.dds

Anyone can use it for their nefarious purposes. It's something that should have been in-game already, so yeah...

I can't shorten the paths somehow, maybe I'm just dumb, IDK.

if you are using nifskope. just double click on the texture path words, not the purple symbol. edit like any other text then hit enter after done.

Thank you, GhostNull. I'm using it for Pelagiad Expanded so I'll give you credit for it in the Readme.
So that's why I can't find any of these default textures/meshes! I need the cs disk. I need to go dig that up from my closet. I have NifSkope but I'm kind of a novice at it. And yeah, this object should have been in the CS to begin with. lol

I apologize for more requests, but could you or someone also retexture Statics: in_c_plain_hall_small and in_c_plain_endcap and in_c_plain_3way

I wish Bethesda had made these pieces as it's so much more convenient when designing rich interiors. Thank you.

Wow, thanks! That program is very useful! I already made the hallway. I think I'm kinda starting to get how to work with this stuff.

EDIT: Why does mine look like this? http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/9104/36352537.jpg

The designs shouldn't be like that. The texture paths need to begin with Textures\Tx_wood_baseboard.tga or whatever, right?

Once again the models have different UV mapping making the textures stretch.

So how do I correct this to make it fit?

You could right-click on the mesh in NifSkope and go to Texture-Edit UV. But in some cases it can be a lot of trouble with meshes that have a lot of faces. I wouldn't be the one to tell you how to edit UV's in NifSkope properly, I just know how to do it 3dsMax.

Anyways, here's the meshes you requested.

Once again, free to use.

Thank you, GhostNull. Could you also do Static: in_c_plain_corner

I know there's a rich corner but it's missing a pillar on the corner and so it doesn't fit with other pieces since you can see an empty space.

Don't mean to hijack the thread. :) Just want to say thank you to Ghostnull and request that these be packed up and sent to PES or Nexus, so that they don't get lost. :tops:

Resources like this are exactly what those of us with no modeling or texturing skill count on to keep our mods fresh and up to date.

Again, Thanks Ghostnull!

Hmm..suddenly don't have permission to edit my posts.

Previous links aren't valid anymore. New link has all the stuff released so far plus the rich corner mesh that was requested.

Thank you, GhostNull. I think that's about it. I'm also using Dongle's windjambs which has rich texture window jambs. I think we covered all the necessary house building pieces. Are you gonna upload this as one of your official mods?

I have other items I want to retexture too, but they're from other modders' work, like the instruments from Korana and stuff. I just want them with better wood is all.

Ghostnull, or somebody else who would like to, would you retexture http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/3626/retexture.jpg using the textures from http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/6082/bookshelf.jpg or http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/9166/chestofdrawers.jpg? They both use that cherry wood texture but the latter has more designs on it.

The items I want retextured are:

Container:
de_r_closet_01
com_hutch_01
de_drawers_02
de_r_drawers_01
de_p_desk_01
de_p_chest_02
de_p_table_01_pos3
de_p_table_02

Static:
Furn_De_R_Bookshelf_02
furn_com_rm_table_03
furn_com_rm_table_04
furn_com_rm_table_05
furn_com_pm_stool_02
furn_de_r_bench_01
furn_de_r_bench_02
furn_de_p_chair_02
furn_de_p_chair_01
furn_com_rm_stool_01
furn_com_rm_chair_03
furn_com_rm_bench_02
furn_com_rm_shelf_01
furn_com_rm_shelf_02
furn_de_lecturn

I'm using these for the schoolhouse in Pelagiad Expanded. Thank you.

Well I guess no one wants to do those ones above. :(

Here's one I'm trying to do but the textures are all stretched on the windows and posts and the ceiling. http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/8581/50758877.jpg

I uploaded it http://www.4shared.com/file/j0AfPAwL/house.html with the bar_greenboards_Beta.dds file. This model is from BarabusImperialHousing1 resource mod.
Thanks to who can retexture this and get it so that it doesn't stretch. And I'm not even sure if greenboards texture would be the best one to use for those exterior beams. I'm just trying to get this model to look as close to vanilla Morrowind as possible. So feel free to switch out different textures to see if something fits better. The light brown interior ceiling is going the wrong way. It should be going with the beams, not against them; i.e. parallel, not crossing. Thanks.

Go to http://www.gamesas.com/redirect.php?site=http://modhistory.fliggerty.com/ and search for ID5620-2-27-kwshipman's+Rich+Furnature+Pack+Complete-20040926.zip. It should give you most (maybe all) of what you are looking for.

Except for that is all rich furniture textures and I want the texture used on http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/6082/bookshelf.jpg.
Thanks for that link, though.

OK, now I have a better idea of what you want. You want furniture with cherry wood textures. The furniture in the link I provided uses the swirl wood textures. I'll keep looking and if I find anything appropriate, I'll post a link.

Update:
Check out this one, http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=6651. It has multiple furniture sets and one of them is cherry wood.
