Most doors used in commercial and residential buildings are only 3 feet wide. Walking through a typical door would be an issue.

Walking through a doorway wouldn't be a problem.

The door surviving the experience?

They showed different parts having different stats, so you can kind of customize the role your power armor fills. IE a light weight armor with little defenses but its faster and lighter VS more defenses and heavier weight.

I would hope we can :P. What if the power armor runs on electricity or something, and you only have a certain amount of time before it shuts down? Just a thought.

Perhaps an overheat system to force cooldowns etc? I am pretty stoked they made it what it was always 'sposed to be. Even in OP. Anchorage it showed a bit of how awesome they were, but when we put it on it was just point of str or 2 and some armor:/ glad to see it with all the lights and tech we never got in other fallout games.

Here is how I think it will breakdown..pure speculation

The t60(power armor we see in trailer) will be the set of power armor you get first. I believe this was early developmental armor , hence the reason it looks like primitive t45
-being possibly first generation power armor it would make sense it suffered fairly serious power issues and not suited for prolonged use

-You will get the armor very early on to introduce new power armor mechanics in game

-as power armor appears to be VERY powerful this time around it would make sense we get a suit that is kind of a chore to keep going so we don't break the game at early levels

-this suit is shown to have the weakest stats compared to the other armors(another reason I believe it was developmental armor and not a new one)

-it is the only armor we see a "bat dam rate" by

-bethesda would be hardcoe breaking lore if they made all armors require regular fuel changes

-bethesda typically tries very hard to not restrict the way you play

-you find the armor at a museum(i think) it would make sense that the armor could be a fully functional display of one of America's greatest advancements in the field of war

In closing I think power armor early on will require some extra maintenance...but once you find the more advanced parts I think you will be able to basically use it at will. I also think power armor will off insane benefits and damage resistance, it will more than likely be the only way to get to the damage reduction cap

ORRRR...this is a brotherhood attempt at creating power armor and the vertibird we see was shot down and the knight, pilot, initiate or whoever ran out of fuel and had to bail on his or her armor

I feel this makes sense but again this is pure speculation..,<3 fo4 ftw

Not true, "PA bat Dam rate" only appears near the T45 torso. Which according to lore is accurate in that it was the only (known) PA to run on batteries.

Something else I just noticed is the T60 has better HP than all other PA except for the MKII.

maybe the most durable? Or requires less maintenance..wasn't the t45(in game at least) the most durable in regards to total health? In 3 and new vegas

The T60 torso had 325 HP the T51 torso only had 275. Just interesting is all.

I think they use the T-60 in the Concord mission to show off the new power-armor system and to give you a taste of how it feels like. Don't know if you keep it, i guess not. You do keep the powercell though if the Kotaku-leak is to be believed.

I also think that the core-meter doesn't mean that the armor runs out of energy and becomes unusable but is just there for special stuff like the jetpack(does it deplete when the player just moves? I don't think it does,we don't have much footage though) and might even regenerate.

if you watch gameplay you see a raider in regular power armor. my guess is this suite they showed is meant for like taking on large groups of enemys but can be used just about anywhere butit well have a battery

Well, the entire concept of Power Armor originally was like a vehicle rather than actual armor you just put on so I'd think it requires some form of power. The new UI for the power armor seems to show that too.

it did look like that, however in the more advanced armors one cell lasted over 100 years I think...which is why I believe this is early stage armor (like the t45) which has energy consumption issues

I'm thinking that it'll be a vehicle but it will have a option to be called to you, Similar how the Vertibird was signaled to pick up the character in the trailer montage! I think it will use some PA based cell that will have multiple variations depending on what level you are! They could be rare or expensive if you decide to purchase them. I honestly think we'll still have our freedom with power armor though but it'll have many disadvantages on the field with the matenance!

Much longer than 100 years. So long that battery life is a non-issue. Limited battery-life would be really lore-breaking.

thanx for clarifying ..this is a big reason imo power armor use will ultimately not be limited..also very out of character for bethesda to put that restriction on you

I do hope we can walk around in one the way we could in earlier games. The need to recharge your PA I understand, though; They were not meant to supply power to rockets so you could fly around.

Well let us count real quick... 45, 51, 60...yeah 60 is still higher than 45 and 51 so therefore it would not have been "developmental" armor. T-45 is the base-prototype level of power armor being the least efficient and effective. Not that this makes any sense because it was already established that T-51 was the most advanced power armor made before the bombs dropped. Everything after that is post-war, however one of the concept art (or screenshot, cant recall) shows T-60 armored soldiers outside the vault pre-war...which contradicts previously established lore...so take it for what you will
