Can these system spec run Crysis 1 on Ultra High settings?

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 11:47 am

I know people are probably sick of these post asking if there PC can run it but i want as many people opinions on this to help me decide. Can these system sepecs run crysis 1 on ultra high settings and max resolution, and do u think it could also run TES:Skyrim on max settings and max resolution? Im buying a new gaming PC and want it to run those 2 games on max settings.

yes, that system should be able to do it, but i would look at getting a slightly more powerful graphics card just to be sure like the GTX460, but if your not to worried about AA then that system should be fine.

buy the cheaper i5 but a better graphics card (gtx 580/590)
the i7 is not made for gaming, the i5 is far better :)
and maybe take a look at cry-adams specs, he got a really nice combination
also 9GB ram is too much. if you want to waste money - go for it. but 4GB is far more than you will ever need!

+the 460 is too weak to run crysis 1 maxed out on a really high resolution. its a mid class graphics card and if you read some benchmarks you'll see that im right.

the system you made sounds like expensive alienware ****. custom pc ftw!

yeah, i didnt try it on crysis 2, cause i bought last week new parts. with my still old gtx 285 and new core i 7 2600k i can maxed out it wiithout problems.
and my opinion is: before buying socket 1366, buy 1155. maybe 1366 supports tri-channel ram, which i first wanted to try out. and just to compare, core i 7 950 with 4x 3,066 ghz for like 245€ and rank 12. core i 7 2600(k) with 4x3.4ghz for 265 € and this one is on rank3.

I would say the i7 will be much more powerful than you need. 9GB ram is also overkill unless your doing some high resolution image editing or video work. The GTX460 is a good card that is on the borderline for running Crysis at full HD, full settings.

Scale back the ram and processor and think about getting 2 GTX460s for SLI goodness.

Quick search on a danish website I found a package of 12 gigs of 2GHz DDR3 (duh) ram for roughly 300€... Guess you can easily find better and cheaper ram with a more thorough search.

I think with that system your graphics card will be the weakest link, and for crysis it is, along with ram, most likely the most important link. I'd go for something more powerful than the 460.

I ran crysis with an old E8500 3.16GHZ core 2 duo, 4 gigs of 800MHz geil ram and a 460, at 1920x1080, very high settings, and in some places it was stuttering (did add AA), fps was generally below 30, but I did get some smooth 30+ fps in alot of places.

There is no GPU out there that will give you a minimum of 60 FPS running 1080p Crysis on Very High. There could be, but you couldn't afford it.

Are you insane? 9gb of ram! For what you need that insane amount of ram? That rig can run crysis on ultra high settings for sure with no problem. You will get some nice fps with it.But 9gb ram won't affect fps in any way. 4 gb is enough! Insted get some cooling hardware.like nice pc case or cpu cooler

My 6850 Toxic Edtion kills 60 FPS on the load screens 999 FPS :) But after load down she goes to the 30's :(
