Maybe. Although I don't think your X Box will appreciate it much.
What patch did you get last month?
I think the duplication glitch was fixed by the 1.2 patch.

i dont know :( i just brought my consoel in to a place that repairs computers hooked it up recovered my account which fixed the user transfer licence thing then i accepted the consoel updates then i inserted oblivion and accepted the update for that after that i was able to play SI and KOTN DLC's and then i inserted morrowind andaccepted the update that made it so i could play that game on my 360 and then i put in black ops and accepted the update fro that which allowed me to have multiplayer options and combat training AI offline ... i wish i had brought fable TLC to see if there was an update which reduced the lagg at all ...

how do i find out what patch i have if any ?

Dude, you can be pretty sure that doing that 15,000 watermelons trick on a 360 will crash the game. hahaha You should still be able to duplicate after the latest patch using the scroll method. Just be sure that the number of scrolls you have is divisible by how ever many copies of the item you have to be duplicated. For example, if you have 37 scrolls and try to duplicate something you have three copies of, you will simply drop the three copies and none will be duplicated. Drop one of the original scrollsl, for a total of 36, and try to duplicate the same item and you will end up with 3 stacks of 12 (36 total) of whatever item you wished to duplicae (for items that can come in bundles, one single item containing several single items, like a quill of arrows, for example).

Now, if you take those 36 scrolls and duplicate something that you only have one copy of in your inventory, then you will drop 36 individual copies of that item. I have duplicated 200+ single items at one time on the 360, but depending on the condition of your machine, even that may crash the game. Even if it doesnt it will go quite slowly at first and then sort of "explode" into a bunch of items. Maybe if it was something small you could get away with 1000 copies, but that may be too much.

No. Properly built gaming computers will eat your console's lunch. We are running modded versions of Oblivion, often at higher resolutions than your console can manage.

On the PC, at least, the patch number is on the bottom left of the main menu

No. Chances are, most computers would probably better then the 360 at running the game.

Console vs. PC wars are traditionally frowned upon here, but this isn't 2005 anymore. The 360 is the exact same piece of tech that it was back then, but maybe smaller, cooler running and less power-hungry, thanks to advances made via the PC technology war that's been waged in the meantime.

The 360 won't have a successor until the economy gets better, folks at large all buy 1080p TVs, and start clamoring for a console that can handle it... then, Microsoft will launch a new console in record time. Because the tech that can easily deal with 1080p came out years ago. For PCs.

The next Xbox will handle 1080p just swimmingly, and it will be cheap. Because it will be based upon mass produced PC tech that's already old. Just like the last Xbox was. But it won't be produced and released until market pressure forces Microsoft to do so.

Quite breathtaking, really, to find someone here and now in 2011 that thinks the 360 is still any sort of leading-edge... anything.

Well, I don't think we need to take it to the level of anything competitive, or make it personal, anyway. The question was asked and answered. :)

I tended to think that about my PS3 until I got a PC. I don't really understand it either, I think its just PC's are more powerful somehow that I'm not even going to go into cause it'll make me sound like an idiot :)

1. Go to your xbox menu
2. Scroll to "My Xbox"
3. Look under "System Settings"
4. Click "Memory"
5. Press Y "Device Options"
6. "Clear System Cache"

This removes updates to from your system. Sign off of xbox live and accept any updates your Oblivion cd may suggest (you can't do anything about that) and try the trick again.

not all pc can handle oblivion. when they say pc, they are talking about the higher priced ones. sure pc can up upgraded and consoles can't. consoles are restricted that way. for some reason, they aren't allowed to upgraded to the status of a computer. but many come with a hard drive, a dvd player, connection to the internet. the thing consoles will lag behind pc, but they will get stronger. and there is comparability which pcs have a problem with.

the 360 is far stronger than the xbox and the same for the ps3. at some point everything will be good enough then consoles will be better for gaming than pcs.

This will never happen, as PCs constantly evolve, unlike consoles. And, also, most PCs can play Oblivion, not Just gaming ones.

You should be able to do the scroll dup trick, since Bethesda hasn't released any new patches in a few (years?)?

Doing this on the 360 might trigger the overflow loot bag (if they exist in Oblivion, I've heard people say they don't) if not then the game will just crash.

Most modern PC's (as long as they're not netbooks, etc) should be able to run Oblivion fine.

The Loot Bag does exist in Oblivion, but only when you drop things. This is 'shooting' the watermelons. But yes, the game would freeze and crash.

Well I did a little experiment with this on the 360. I duped four thousand pumpkins in the same area as shown on the video. I jumped down to the table below and watched as they rained from the sky. Aside from slowing the game down to a crawl (it was very hard to move, lots of lag) there was no crash. I think the reason for this is that on the 360 the pumpkins begin to disappear at a certain point. Looking up at them, they would appear about halfway down from the ceiling, much like how characters and objects will pop up at certain distances when you are walking outside. Also, the pile of pumpkins on the table, while sizeable, never seemed to get any bigger past a certain point. A lot were fallling on the floor but you could see that some simply disappeared and others filled their spaces. Kind of a cool trick, I did it with felldew as well and that looked really neat as well.
