I can't understand Crytek

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 4:26 pm

hi,

I just can't believe what Crytek has done.
The Launch was horrible (on PC) and they slap us all in our faces.. why?
I mean, come on.. what's so difficult to release a console game AND a true PC game.
I mean, I would like to have a Crysis 2 with great Graphics, MODDING, DX11, etc. rather than a CONSOLIZATION.
And technically Crysis 2 isn't a console port, but because of the lack of options, etc. it is one.
So WHY?

Crytek, do you know what your fan-base thinks? Are you ignoring us? Where is Cevat Yerli?
WTF.

Crysis 2 is the biggest disappointment, and I am such a huge Crysis fan :(

:(
I think the game would be as awesome as Crysis 1 was, if they'd release a free sandbox3 editor WITH usable Crysis 2 assets, maybe Public Dedicated Server Files, and we need things like FULLY WORKING ingame CVars and of course better graphics (and DX11) :(

I'm a huge Crytek fan, too. I'm very very sad. Crytek did nothing for PC.

No DX11
Same or Worse Looking than Crysis1.
Much Smaller Map.
No Advanced Option
No Cheat Protection
Locked Data
No Editor
Etc...

Crytek lost reputation of many PC gamers. And Crytek will lose sales on PC.

They ran out of time before release. Planning ahead in Game Development is almost impossible, still, publishers have to plan ahead, business is their business. We would've all be so mad if they postponed the pc release only, wouldn't we?

I mean, I would like to have a Crysis 2 with great Graphics, MODDING, DX11, etc. rather than a CONSOLIZATION.

So you want 3 more features for the pc version, while the console players pay the same if not more? Then you either have to face a delayed pc release, or an unfinished one.

And technically Crysis 2 isn't a console port, but because of the lack of options, etc. it is one.
So WHY?

Not ... enough ... resources ... at the time.

Crytek, do you know what your fan-base thinks? Are you ignoring us? Where is Cevat Yerli?
WTF.

They are busy finishing the game, the engine, the sandbox. It's a pretty big project, you know? They're not gods. And Mr. Yerli is probably having a headache right now... But, that's business

MaxPower82, if this is true I'd be happy.
But the last patch showed us nothing except less content / bugfixes than the console versions.
And it seems the graphic won't change.. I mean, also the physics are soo dumbed down :(

Heh, terrifying is exactly the right word.

Nades raining down from the sky, blowing up all around me.

They already had a huge extension, and they didn't even start DX11 until November (which basically means they hadn't been working on the PC version at all)

They could have gotten it all done if they'd done anything besides try to copy Call of Duty on this game.

Adding in graphics menus doesn't require very much in the way of "resources"... Any of their programmers could have done it in a couple days.

They show up and post in irrelevant topics every now and then because none of the stuff you listed will probably ever come out. They're just trying to hide it until the rage dies down.
