Can't use mods?

Post » Fri Aug 19, 2011 4:42 am

I downloaded both D.E.I.M.O.S. and the Willow companion and it doesn't seem like either are in the game. The files are with the Fallout New Vegas file, and I don't know whats wrong. If you can help, it would be very much appreciated. I got New Vegas from Steam if that makes a difference.

Make sure they are in the Data folder, not just the Fallout New Vegas folder. Also, make sure you have activated them with either the game launcher or FOMM. If you use the default game launcher, click Data Files, then check the box next to both of those mods, then click play. If you use FOMM, simply check the box next to them, then click play. They should then be active and appear ingame. If you don't see them as options to check, you did not copy the files to the proper location; Which should be "Steam/Steamapps/Common/Fallout New Vegas/Data".

I don't believe you do want that. Loose files are files that you have in your Data folder that are also contained within one of the BSA's. Telling it to load loose files loads those instead of the ones packed in the BSA (I think) and slows down your game.
