Can I visit Interplay??

Post » Mon Apr 20, 2009 12:08 pm

Lol. My friends and I might be taking a week vacation to LA near the end of March. I'd be willing to drive an hour to Irvine to visit the gamesas office and meet some of the people. Lol. Maybe see what they're working on. It's the least they could do for one of their investors... (Well, not QUITE... The transfer from my bank has to go through before I can order stock... lol) Did I mention I'm a die-hard Descent fan and would invest all my spare money in the production of Descent 4 if I was convinced gamesas was actually working on it?? (HINT HINT lol)

Hopefully old enough to drive, but the format of his posts raises a couple of doubts in me.

How old do you have to be to drive in America anyway? Same as Britain (17)? A massive thank you to EA for:
- Producing great quality games time and time again
- Providing excellent technical support
- Never destroying any highly acclaimed studios for profit
- Never ripping people off
- Never wasting people's time

No Problem. I'll take you to gamesas. Let me know when you're going to Washington D.C. - I'll take you to Pentagon and introduce you with their top secret materials!

P.S. Man, I guess if someone shows you what Inetrplay is working on currently - they would have to kill you after you've seen it all ;)

Hmm, I don't know. You'd never actually get to play the finished version of any of the games in development.

Although, that said, Mass Effect was looking so much more shaped up in the early days then when they released it. So, it might be worth it. A massive thank you to EA for:

Yeah, that was the idea lol. I was hoping someone from gamesas would read my post. Hence why I posted it on gamesas's forum lol. But maybe I'd have better luck with a PM...

Honestly, I'm not sure if we could show you anything. It'd be a very boring office with great big sheets of paper hiding all the neat stuff on the whiteboards... ^_^

What about after you've announced what V13 is. If someone were to come tour the office then, could they see anything? I always wondered if gaming companies would allow any tours by a regular joe. It would be a little boring not being able to see anything. You guys would also be busy working so you couldn't really sit down for a chat.

I've done fan tours maybe 2-3 times in close to 20 years (and those were for local EB employees or something like that.) It doesn't happen very often.

Honestly, there isn't much to see. It looks much like a business office, with a little more clutter, and a lot of whiteboards that have nonsensical drawings and notes.

Until the game is up and running, you need a lot of Imagination to see The Magic.

So I would really only be interested in watching the process of making the game, and talking to you guys about previous games. I doubt you'd want me to watch you and you'd be too busy to talk much. So I'll just buy your games and play them like I always have.

i see a thousand monkeys typing the code at a thousand pcs, real life enclaves making models of themselves, dogmeat, the vault dweller writing the story, little deathclaws running around, the chosen one going hunting for developers of a certain game company, super mutants doing the soundtrack, ghouls helping with the concept art , while Torr is coordinating everything. So youre telling me FO3 is better than the first two? Okay i respect your opinion. Can we step outside for a sec?

Let them do their job =)

You know i wouldn't mind visiting the office my self and wouldn't be much boring to me because i helped make games as a kid with people over the internet and fallout was one of the games that got me interested so little lines of coding and what kind of AI makes me giggle like a little Asian school girl but to help with the little tour thing for kicks and giggles

starters make everyone who visits have to dress up in vault suits that at the end they can keep and pay 40 dollars or something to cover cost of the vault suit...but only problem with that and let me paint the picture with the help of a movie : Willy wonka's chocolate factory: giant rolling blueberry girl sept in this case wont be so much rolling and be more of a jiggling who will be most likely be a dude who will sequel at the site of Chris and preform what is referred to in football as a tackle and a broken rib and temporarily hinder Chris's ability to work

but on a lighter note a suggestion box at the end of the tour shaped like a brain bot be awesome

but I'd still rather test the darn game Sept now it's kind hard to find a company that dose testing where anyone can apply plus or minus tester experience and some kind of training also their location compared to the studio
