Can we wear two rings?

The reason for the single ring is because we can enchant items twice now. Just svcks that we can't enchant it twice with the same effect.

You only have the one finger.

Obviously.

The middle one?

The good news is, if it's a bug I'm sure it will be fixed in a patch.

I'm guessing the enchantment system is to blame. Or maybe complexity. We have far fewer items than in previous Elder Scroll games and I'm thinking it's either that or the necessity of animating everything so people who are concerned with clipping and all that don't howl.

Yeah I miss the two rings Oblivion allowed. Maybe they wanted to limit the amount of stacked effects.

Only using one ring is ridiculous. Back in Daggerfall, you had all the same slots we have now, plus slots for belts, marks, jewels, headbands/circlets, amulets, and 2 rings. And also separate slots for shirts and pants. All could be enchanted. Those were good times...

Morrowind had like 15 slots and was not overpowered at all. But it was too complex for 90% of today's gamers so we have to cut it down to 6.

Or maybe, just maybe, Morrowind was a bit ridiculous.

Bethesda is simply testing just how far we will swallow the simplification.
It's less work for them to have less slot and thus cost less manpower and money.
One day, armors will be one piece with no accessory.

I think cutting here and there is ok, but men,
no characteristics, classes, no menus and inventory with character in front of the screen, no summary: unknown total damage or total armory, (what's the point in knowing how many books did I read?!?!?), VERY FEW MONSTERS per area,
and now one ring only ?!! Might and magic : SIX RINGS per character!!!

Balance and single player, let me think... Do I care about how easy it would be if I had all defense boosting rings? Nope, not at all. In fact, that's kind of the point.

Modders will fix this bug, I hope. No way I will ever think of this as a feature or a design point. No, it's gotta be a bug. While they're at it, though, I do hope they add even more ring slots. And bracelet slots.

Obviously you haven't played Fable.

I haven't played much (yes, it hurts) so I'm just going to ask a stupid question....

Have you tried putting 2 rings in your fav's and select them with the left and right mouse button? (for PC of cause)

Going to the "why two rings anyway" questions; The two rings system is a throw back to old D&D rules, which was followed through by most computer games for quite a while (some have diverged). Bethesda was one of those that followed the "2 ring rule". Personally, I would like to see the "2 ring rule" stay.

Feel free to :flamethrower: me if you wish

EDIT: okay, I just tried and yes it was a stupid question!!!

In Oblivion [...], nothing was unbalanced.

Lol wut? Everything was unbalanced in Oblivion. Resisting/reflecting all magic, resisting/reflecting all physical damage and being permanently invisible sound familiar at all?

As for being able to wear two rings, I have to agree. There's just something wrong with only being able to wear one ring. It doesn't feel right. Especially if you consider you always make them in pairs when you smith them. Why are you able to make two rings at once if you can only wear one of them?

Make the enchantments half as strong on rings and let us wear two. More customing, without overpowering, and lets married men please their wives. Since apparently everyone on these forums is extremely faithful.
