Can you dodge in the game?

When I fight in close combat, I moved backward in cross directions when enemy attacks back.

When I fight in long range, I moved sideways in a good timing when enemy attacks by arrows and magic.

Kind of sort of. You get no "animation roll" kind of dodge, but can "step away" or move out of any blow.

Backing up is tough to do as a dodge. If they power attack, your backwards movement is slow enough that they will more than likely still make contact.

I think the game bases it's hit/miss on point of impact instead point of attack. Sometimes, though, I'd swear the timing is off just enough to have me thinking it is point of attack, especially when trying to drink a potion before getting hit: kill-cam action :)

When your Light Armor is maxed out in perks you have a built in dodge. I believe it says: When wearing all Light Armor you have a chance to avoid all damage from melee combat.

Not like in ESO.

That plus dw block are the two sole things I miss about the combat.

There is a mod called, I believe, TS Dodge. I'm posting from my phone which is making it difficult to check. But... I highly recommend it for a melee character. It fits in like it was always supposed to be there, with a hockey or double press in a direction triggering a sidestep or backward hop. It's saved my butt tons of times and does wonderful things like interrupting the painfully slow crossbow reload animation in case you happen to be performing that action when a dragon is launching hot/cold death at you.

Good stuff.

Skyrim lacks a real "dodge" move, to be honest.

That works for me especially with one of the slow time perks you can see them coming and dodge, draw, stop, aim and fire, dodge again. Rarely get hit by arrows but spells are harder as they travel much faster (firebolts at anyrate, ice spikes too)
