Can you fully restore attributes with Enchanted item?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 4:57 pm

I attempted to follow the suggestion in the tips for beginners post about creating a ring to restore all attributes. Is there a way to do this so that it cancels the damage spell rather than overriding it until it expires? I noticed in testing that when the duration of the restore attribute item is less than that of the damaging spell, not only does it not restore the attribute, it actually lowers the attribute even more. FYI, for testing purposes I created a spell for that damaged my strength by 1 point for 20 seconds (cast on self).

My attempts to create a ring with the same effects as the best restore attributes potions (20 points) got way too expensive both in gold & casting cost when you make the effect last for 20 seconds (the duration of the damage spells). Anyone have any suggestions?

Yes, there is a solution for this. The only you need to do is to have a http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Spells/Self_Dispel#Dispel effect in that enchanted ring.

I think this could work in a extravagant ring (60pts) - Dispel 100pts on self, Restore Attribute:Strength 20pts on self
In my previous games I always enchant a ring with all attributes and cast a Dispel (100pts on self) effect before I use my "Shrine" ring

Whatever you choose you're gonna need a enchanter or you can boost your enchant skill through the spell "Fortify Enchant Skill" spell effect.

Casting the dispel spell first is what does the trick, thank you! Trying to incorporate it into the ring didn't work very well because apparently only 8 spell effects are allowed on an enchanted item, and adding dispel would have made it 9.

In that case you need two enchanted rings for this.

The first one has the dispel (100pts) effect and the second has all the attributes (5pts) effect both on self.
I think you need only 2 http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Expensive_Ring#Expensive_Ring for this solution a least one for the attribute (8) enchantments.

Thank you! I think, though, that I'll stick with one ring, since the Dispel spell is easy enough to cast first, and doesn't require me to use a ring for it.
