Can you imagine if Hans Zimmer scored Skyrim

I vote for Jeremy Soule! Hans Zimmer seems a little limited in innovation.

Should you listen to a track by Mr. Zimmer it is "http://open.spotify.com/track/53CxTRm73THL8NuTsNTlUy" From http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108399/. Even though it is a homage to "Gassenhauer" by Carl Orff, which is in the soundtrack to the classic http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0069762/, it is a very beautiful piece & it sets the mood perfectly.

Ooh I need to watch True Romance again. I really like that song, and the movie is great too of course.

Also regarding Yann Tiersen, I love what he did with Amelie, and I've heard a bit of his other work which is pretty interesting too, but I don't think his music would work very well in a TES game.

Oh, and speaking of The Mission, check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU. IMO, this is one of Morricone's greatest pieces. Also listen to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjeG7ZNY2G0 from La Piovra.

Should a replacement be needed for whatever reason...Bear McCreary anyone? If you haven't heard his Battlestar Galactica work, go find it. Amazing stuff.

I love what Zimmer did on the Dan Brown films, especially in the climix of The Da Vinci Code where Robert Langdon walks through Paris to find Le Louvre. Jeremy Soule, however, has done a bloody amazing job so far with the ES soundtracks, and I would not want him gone for all the money in the world!

Edit: Here it is - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCK0AQ4tYYU

Horrible quality though. :(

Hans Zimmer is great, but the teaser trailer music was awesome. So I'm still happy.

Jeremy Soule is more suitable for this. Very talented, not THAT expensive, and he has lots of experience with video game soundtrack composing. But I like Hans Zimmer a lot specially in "Lion King" and "Gladiator"

Yeah, I'm a fan of Poledouris, especially for doing a video game track. It's has a somewhat simplified quality that makes it better for videogames...you can listen to it over and over, like Morrowind's tracks.

Oh, and Jerry Goldsmith http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FB_HBlTzYFU&feature=related 1:00 mark is where is picks up

I wouldn't mind Zimmer but if I had to pick anybody it would have to be Soule (because hes done good by past games) or Clint Mansel the master who brought us the most epic soundtrack ever. Requiem for a Dream.

I'd also pick John Williams over Hans Zimmer, but if Zimmer did it it would be so legendary!

i cant belive what i am reading
soule has made a incredible Soundtrack
Oblivion was awesome. Still listen to some tracks, not just because they reflect the soul of the game perfectly, also it its just awesome music. it can stand on its own!
Not a single song sounds as the other

of the hundereds of hours i spent in oblivion i rarely became bored of the Soundtrack.

I cant wait what he will do next! The trailer music was already brilliant

how cant you be statisfied with songs like this?!

Hans Zimmers work is good, but it is too generic for my tastes.

What I would love to hear is Ennio Morricones take on the TES soundtrack. Or Howard Shores take on it.

Hans Zimmer is extremely over-rated. Sorry. I just don't understand why people are so amazed by him. I'd take a number of other artists before Zimmer.

I like your music choice...I listen to him all the time...his soundtrack for Inception is good...but people are loyal to Jeremy Soule. I just don't think Soule was in the background music for the Skyrim trailer. It sounded a lot different and I have my bets on certain composers. Hans Zimmer did CoD, but I'm pretty sure he didn't do it. I was thinking that Jerry Goldsmith did it because of the 13th Warrior but its not similar. I was thinking that they used Basil Poledouris because of Conan but I recently learned he passed away in 2006. You couldn't say Howard Shore because it doesn't sound like it. There is one other obvious solution, it is Jeremy Soule because music changes over time and gets more refined. He could be devoting lots of time and effort into it, similar to how Martin O'Donnell did for the score of Halo: Reach.

Ennio Morricone sounds more contemporary...not fantasy-like.
