Can you imagine if Hans Zimmer scored Skyrim

After watching ''The last samurai'' i have become a fan of his masterful work. And just recently he worked on the music for modern warfare. Just imagine if he worked with Bethesda :o

he most definitely is, but they would have to jack up the retail price to cover his composer fee. I had a chance to see him conduct an orchestra and perform the Inception score with Johnny Marr (from The Smiths) live at the premiere.

a buddy worked as his assistant on one film and he worshiped the guy. He went so far as to suggest that if Zimmer had been born a few hundred years ago, kids would probably be studying his music along with Beethoven and Mozart.

It's funny you say that, cause the intro music for Oblivion always reminded me of Zimmer's work on Pirates of the Caribbean. I like Soule and would be happy if he continued with the series, but I'd also be ecstatic if they brought in Zimmer!

The Last Samurai is my favorite score of all time. I figured "A Way of Life" would be great Elder Scrolls exploring music.I listen to a bunch of movie scores though, and I know more than a few great composers who would do well with Skyrim.

I think I'd honestly be disappointed if Soule didn't do the Soundtrack for Skyrim.

The Last Samurai has some of the most epic music ever...

You people who are saying you'd like Soule over Zimmer are nuts... Sure Soule is good, but just google Hans Zimmer... Look at all the amazing projects he's been a part of...

Hans Zimmer is pretty good. So is Jesper Kyd (All Assassin's Creed) and Michael McCann (Deus Ex: Human Revolution).

I haven't looked but I'll guess Zimmer hasn't been shown to be one of the chosen composers. So since we're speaking hypothetically thing is, can he handle a piece for Skyrim to Bethesda's tastes, Skyrims mood, and environment? My bet is he most likely could give a decent score.

Still I'd prefer that extra money go to hiring more diverse voice actors for the NPCs. And if there is spare money then maybe a phone call to Liam Neeson or Morgan Freeman. Or Both. Or is Liam Neeson actually Morgan Freeman ;) Liam Neeson is God.

Maybe the next TES. *Shrug*

It's not that I think Soule is a better composer. I don't. But at this point it kinda feels like tradition that he do the music for Elder Scrolls games.

God no. I don't like Hans Zimmer at all.
All his soundtracks sound alike... even when they are not alike; it's always the same buildup into a orgism of bombastic cliché.

Prefer soundtracks by Thomas Newman, good old Morricone or even underdogs like Clint Mansell (requiem for a dream, anyone?) and Asche&Spencer because they actually succeed to write a song that defines a movie.

Howard Shore (Lord of the Rings trilogy) or bust! But yeah ok I'd take Zimmer too. John William's rules, but I think he reuses to many of his melodies. Too bad Daft Punk only does techno, because the Tron Legacy soundtrack was one of the best I'd heard in years.

Zimmers scores are similar in approach and situations but that doesn't stop it from sounding fantastic for its specific use. Overall, refer back to my first post.

I'm pretty sure Jeremy Soule has all the music completed by now. Beth has a good relationship with him. Just wait.
