Can you improve enchanted gear beyond "Flawless"?.

I'm asking because, I upgraded the Nightingale Bow and other gear, but it only goes to "Flawless" even with Enchant at level 100 and every perk.

I thought upgrading weapons required smithing, not enchanting?

To get enchanted items above flawless ie nightingale bow + daedric artifacts, you'll need smithing at 100 with arcane blacksmithing and daedric smithing perks to play it safe, having either alchemy or enchanting at 100 as well helps.(use crafted enhance smithing potions or 4 pieces of peerless smithing gear).Note that peerless smithing equipment can be either crafted or found at stores or in random loot depending on your level.

I meant Smithing. My bad!.

I'm gonna try that. I had another character that had every perk on Smithing and it still wouldn't let me upgrade the bow and other items beyond "Flawless"

Nope!. You use Void Salts to improve the Nightingale gear.

Use the fortify restoration glitch, get whatever the hell you want, though go too high, the game is no longer any fun.

Meh.. I like playing with some level of challenge without having to amp it up to Master.

There are some items that you cannot improve past Flawless. There are some you can't improve at all, no matter the skill level.

To get any item to Legendary, you need the Arcane Perk and a Smithing skill, buffed to 168...or 91 with the associated Perk.

I have 3 or 4 +20 to smithing items and Alchemy generates +73% to smithing.

All my items become legendary with smithing, independent of enchantment status.

Go get buffed with smithing perk gear.
