Can you be a lady in this game?

In the trailor the hero/viking/dragonborn was a man and it makes me worried that you wont be able to be a lady.

what is this I don't even....

I guess by that logic you can't be an argonian or a kajit because that wasn't in the trailer either?

the oblivion trailer showed an imperial male, did you have this worry then to?

You can be female. Obviously.

If there are any dresses in Skyrim (maybe nobles wear them...I dont know) then I'm guessing the player can too...hopefully only female characters. Maybe they will have gender-specific clothing, who knows.

In the Mass Effect 2 trailer, they talk all about Guy Sheppard, "he" "him" etc, etc, etc.

But you could still make FemShep. (The better choice - her voice actor is much better :D )

The trailer picks one because it's easier to write the script. "But there is one they fear.... in their tongue he or she is Dovahkiin" sounds pretty silly. :)

Well, you've been able to be a woman in every single Elder Scrolls game (except Redguard which was a different game type altogether) so that pretty much answers your question for you, now doesn't it?

Of course you'll be able to be a lady!

Don't be worried! They would never, ever do something like that to the Elder Scrolls fans again! Ever.

And if they do...

... we all know where Todd Howard lives!!!!! :flamethrower: :obliviongate:

No of course not. The only race you can be is a male Nord. The only helmet you can wear is the viking helmet with horns. You also only got the armor you saw in the trailer. Everything else in the game don't apply to you.

I answered yes to both poll options, because you can never have too many elfmaids in pretty dresses. My heroes of the fairer six tend to be a bit tomboyish, though (action girls most certainly).

I'm also surprised so many people seem to be misinterpreting the male Nord trailer dude as a pre-defined player character... they had to choose something to make the trailer with, and it might've seemed disjointed if the example hero kept changing race/gender throughout the video.

Anyway, hopefully any remaining confusion will be lifted when Bethesda release all the screenshots, concept artwork and lore snippets for the ten playable races and two playable genders in Skyrim. You are going to do that soon, right Bethesda? :shifty:

Yes all options from past games should be there, alot of games like showing a hero that sums up the plot.
So the teams create a specific "face" for the game to use in videos, one that sums up the vibe of the game.
Not every game does this however, FO is consistent with its dark armoured NPC ( apart from the one that shall not be named. )

It also helps many games release novels based on the game.
As a strong central character from the vids, with an established name just transcribes itself better.
In most cases this is oddly a male character, however that is an issue that can lead to threads getting locked.

Hahahahahaha caught me :whistling: .
I just thought that with two threads close to the same question.
I could save my lazy butt some work.
Still I had to track that post down, then edit it to match a slightly different worded OP.
Then added a new bit for flourish.

Damn meddling kids, I almost got away with it.

The woman in the tavern is pretty compared to Oblivion. I'll spend a couple of hours in the creator to build a Olivia Wilde clone.
