Can you leave Solstheim and return to Skyrim (and vice versa

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 6:01 am

I'm a PC player, so I obviously haven't experienced any Dragonborn content yet, but I've been wondering for a while about something. Once you travel from Skyrim to Solstheim, are you allowed to travel back and forth freely between the two maps?

Yes. They even have a marker on your map that says "To Solstheim" or "To Skyrim". So long as you have taken the boat to Solstheim you can freely travel between the two, though I think it requires coin to keep passing through...

Requires nothing if you fast travel, only if you go by boat.

I think you still have to pay the travel fee when you cross. You take the boat every time you travel to Soltheim, fast travel or not.
I could be wrong.

Taken from a TES Wikia page.

After the first trip to Solstheim, Gjalund will charge you 250 gold for each consecutive trip. However, this can be bypassed by using the fast travel arrow on the corner of Solstheim's and Skyrim's world map to alternatively traverse the two regions.

Ok then I was just making sure since you still take the boat even for fast travel.

That has to be one hell of a swim...

Someone needs to make a parody video stat!

I am curious, like a previous poster pointed out, why you end back up on the boats after fast traveling. That makes no sense now that I think harder on it. Stow away?

Yeah that always got me into thinking I continually pay. Guess it was for rp purposes or realism...I don't know its Bethesda, they do weird things in weird ways.

Yes, you can travel back and fourth freely as much as you like.
