Can you poison spears, bullets, drinks, etc?

Post » Wed Sep 08, 2010 1:24 pm

I read somewhere that you could make a poison potion thingy. But what I wanted to know was, can you use this poison on the tip of your spears? Or on bullet tips? And if so, would you just open up the pip-boy and select that you want "this poison" to mis with "these bullets"? Or would you need to go to a crafting campfire (?) and mix it there? What exactly does the campfire do?

Spears yes, bullets maybe, drinks doubt it. I think making poisons will only occur at fires, but equipping them will be like changing ammo types.

I sure hope you can't poison bullets, it would be pretty pointless. Even if you had blowfish poison and somehow magically made a bullet that would survive the temperature of friction in a barrel and still have viscosity and lethality are you going to stand there and wait for the target to be pacified by the toxin?

Yeah I'd rather just shoot them again.

But I hope we can 'taint' drinks.

We know you make it at campfires using the survival skill, maybe rad-scorpion glads, and we know we can add it to melee.

Thanks for the information, and now that I think about it, bullet poisoning would be pretty pointless. Lol

Confirmed that we can use http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Cazador but maybe there will be different effects with different kinds...

It would make sense that Posion could be applied to any edged or pointy/stabby weapon. Not sure if it would work with a Powerfist....

However Posions are in the game, what all you can apply them to is not known, but I would think it would be what I have mentioned. I am not sure if you can purchase/find posion, but you can make it with the Survival Skill.

Applying poisons to at least edged or pointed melee weapons makes sense, for firearms the only one that would make sense is a tranq/dart gun.

Ammo conservation. Also, perhaps noise minimization. A silenced .22LR pistol will be damn quiet, and a single poisoned bullet will do the job without costing a fortune.

in the same way that.. erm.. there was a gun in FO3, and if you shot someone with it, aside from taking usual damage it would continue zapping them for 30 seconds after, draining them until death. Can't for the life of me remember what it was, maybe it was something from EVE.

Probably something from EVE, nothing Vanilla had that feature. The closest match would be the Gauss Rifle or Tesla Cannon, but neither one has a lasting electrical effect on the target.

Yeah i guess you could pretty much ignore my entire post...
I have been shot with a 22lr out of a rifle (a child at a shooting range, i could still hang his father), unless that poison can somehow instantly kill, that silencer was a waste of time... my leg still looks like someone put a cigar out in it. Also if it does work, be sure to notify your assailant not to harm you while your poison takes effect, it can really throw a wrench into your plans.
If you are going to go completely illogical and insist on this poisoned bullet nonsense, a subsonic round (which is what silencers are coupled with, fyi, huge difference between a silencer and a suppressor) which would reduce the heat in the barrel slightly. How this is all going to be absorbed into the bloodstream and how the bullet is going to be carrying a large enough quantity of it to be effective is still complete nonsense, but since you seem bound and determined, don't let it slow you down...

That if I'm right would be the Dart Gun, which you could make from schematics and utilised Radscorpion venom.
