I certainly hope not. Somebody asking if there is prone just shouts "I want it to be like MW2." to me, and that's something I don't want.

I wouldn't really want that. Dropshotting is pretty cheap and I hate people who camp somewhere proned.

I don't mind if prone were in this game. Besides, dropshotting in a fastpaced game would not be the smartest thing to do.
But you will not be able to go prone in this game. However, there's a slide mechanic which you can use to slide to cover. I don't know if you can use it on ANY location.

I have no problem with prone so if it is in there ok and if it isn't, ok. One thing is we won't have to worry about a CoD scenario where everyone is at the corners of the map trying to shoot each other. But one of my games MAG you can go prone but really you only use it if you have a LMG to bunker down a position as a sinper or just to hide and knife someone in the back :ninja:

-.- Dropshotting can be effective, but it also leaves you extremely vulnerable against players who can actually think. Oh yeah, and there are other games than MW2 that let you go prone.

Well, I was thinking that if you could crawl under certain areas, maybe, but the slide accomplishes that faster though.

with the new ability to slide and fire at the same time, i find this discussion to be pointless...even if you couldnt go prone people could still do running slides to avoid direct fire...

Please devs... don't put prone in this game. Let the COD keep prone and do your own thing. Sooner or later the masses with finally get tire of COD and want something more in a shooter!

This game already has the power slide, so "drop shooting" is irrelevant if you ask me, nades and nade launchers should be fine, as well you have fast movement classes that would counter.

Prone is laying down on your belly, not turning into a bot for part of a match.

I've never seen a system like what you're talking about in a game. Could you give some examples of game that feature this so I have a clue?

youre thinking of a Drone or a Bot, prone is simply a technically name for a shooting stance while laying on the ground
