...can you still jump?

Post » Mon Jul 25, 2011 2:44 pm

I just hope there is a jump animation that doesnt resemble Super Marios Brothers 3 on SNES.

After reading this response to another thread... it kinda raised hairs on the back of my neck. So please, answer me these questions three...

Is jumping necessarily required in Skyrim in light of Acrobatics being dropped?

Is there an article, a video, or a screen shot, that confirms jumping has returned to Skyrim?

Is is possible that Bethesda is eliminating the ability to jump in the Elders Scrolls games... FOREVARRR!?!??

Of course it will be in

otherwise it would be the only game ever to not have jumping

You just wont be able to increase the height you can jump

That... That ALMOST qualifies as a silly question.

But yes, in all certainty, you'll be able to jump.

You can jump.

You just can't raise your skill to jump any higher, or to attack while jumping. It'll be like running: everyone does it the same way.

Actually, I whole heartily agree that jumping will return... but to be fair.

Is there an article, a video, or a screen shot, that confirms jumping has returned to Skyrim?

I can't find a thing.

Except a lot of the classic FPS games (e.g. goldeneye, perfect dark) or the classic RPG games (Diablo, fallout, etc)

Maybe they're still working on the jumping animation, as Todd didn't show it off in any footage.

This seems perfectly reasonable, actually.

I think that it would be silly to assume that in your modern action-rpg, that would require you to climb things such as mountains, that there's no jumping.

You will never be able to jump. If you are so unfortunate that you get stuck by some rocks and enemies are nearby you are forever doomed to be standing by said rocks.

If you can't alter your jump height, Jumping will be as meaningless as it was in Fo3/Nv

absolutely no reason to jump what so ever.

Skyrim has tons of mountains, so that's reason enough to jump even if we can't alter the height.

I actually agree, and have no doubts jumping will be included. I was just saying the aforementioned statement was a fallacy.

...and fable, final fantasy.

Hence the "ETC" I wasn't going to list every RPG that didn't include it.

Who cares about jumping. I never really trained my acrobatics and I mostly focused on training my sleeping and waiting skills.
