can you toggle the HUD on?

Post » Tue Jul 06, 2010 5:24 pm

i havent seen the magazine but i've heard that there won't be an HUD. will there be an option to toggle it on cause i cant see how it would work without being able to see your compass, health, ect.
i wouldnt want this to turn out like fable 2->fable 3 with the loss of the health bar

thanks

Yes, that's what I got from the article.

You can chose to hide or show it.

It's bugging me too. I want a freaking HUD, this is a video game and you need to see your health, magicka, stamina, and compas. This isn't a movie, a HUD is essential

I hope the HUD won't be intrusive. I was happy when I saw "HUD-free first person-view" in the article.
I hate HUD :(
Give me some visual and audio stuff instead. Heartbeats, panting sounds, blur, etc. I like that much more. You still get to know your health and everything, but in a neater way (I think).

Concerning compass, I'm not sure. I like getting lost, it's a wonderful feeling. But I understand some other people don't like that.
I'd prefer no compass to be included I think...
Landmarks instead :D

ok then there is an option to toggle it on and off I really doubt they would get rid of the HUD

You have a choice, from what I can tell.

How about an ACTUAL compass? You know, one that points north not where you need to go.

I hope I can see my HUD, or I'll be a sad panda.

All the compasses in TES have been made according to Jack Sparrow's model, apparently

As for the HUD, it's been confirmed, you can see the new magicka/stamina/health bar in the skill menu screenshot; those will be visible when you exit the menu as well in all probability, no sense of just having them there.

That or landmarks. I'm pretty fine with both.
