Can you visit Solstheim again?

Post » Sat Jun 15, 2013 11:42 pm

Ive recently purchased Dragonborn as you all probably guessed already (I know Im kind of late on this xD). After absolutely filling my pants with bricks that came from my anus when I first entered Solstheim, I was suddenly struck by the question "Can I ever revisit this place?". So yeah my question is, if I ever go back to Skyrim, will there be a way to get back by using the same boat? Or is there some weird fast travel thing that gets formed.

Yes. You can use the boat, and a fast travel point is added when you first visit the island.

The expansion permanently adds Solstheim too the game as an area.

Of course you can go back! That would be pretty stupid if it was made to where you couldn't.

Well, to be fair, he may not be familar with how TES works. There are a lot of games out there that prohibit us from going back to an area once we have visited. Dragon Age: Origins comes to mind. He may be used to one of these types of games, I don't know.

Thankfully though TES isn't like that, but I was just playing with him. No harm done, right?

Also, some of New Vegas and Fallout 3 DLC locations come to mind.

Operation: Anchorage, Mothership Zeta, Dead Money... all of those either cannot be revisited, or have large chunks that can't be revisited. And that's off the top of my head.

Well to be fair, the only reason one would go back to (at least to O:A and MZ) those locations is to, ah.. *ahem* get special features they may have missed in their original run through the areas. Apart from that I see no reason why someone would want to go back.

Though of course, that's just me. Others may think differently.

As for the OP, yes, you can go back to Solstheim after you travel to Skyrim. Don't know why I bothered adding that considering it's been said nearly half a dozen times prior.

You almost lost me at the bricks from butt part.

I somehow thought you meant that the bricks in solsthiem looked nice.

Anyway i suppose others have answered your question. Would be ridiculous if you couldnt revisit it though, skyrim is an open world rpg after all.

Of course, once visited return at your heart's content, the same for Apocrypha and the Soul Cairn if you have DG.
