Ok, changed it to just a military program that trained them in a different manner than other soldiers, they aren't super-human, just have extensive training, in generic Fallout skills terms he's good at Small Gun's, Sneak and Speech lol

No see, when I meant "normal person" I literally meant "normal person". The only military official here is Wasteland Scholar, and only because I've been able to incorporate his character into a piece of the story.

No it's fine. You can have experience with guns, I think most Americans do? :P I dunno about Canadian gun laws though, but doesn't matter. I'm off, going to go type up the opening of the Rp. Be back soon.

As much as I would like to wait up for the RP to start, it's past 2 a.m. in my part of the world and I'm falling asleep over my keyboard. So I'll say goodnight to you for now and promise to submit my post first thing in the morning. Sorry to make you wait for me already >.<

That's one of the main reasons RPs fail, say there is 3 people there and 6 people here, those 6 will post insanely because that's day, not night, and those 3 will drop, due to not getting a word in. Its only 8 PM where I'm at, so changes are I'll be around when it gets posted.

Ah, but that's really only true for the Fallout section. See, this is something a lot of people have yet to learn. You don't have to respond to every single post made in a thread. Take my RP over in TES for example. There's probably only a post in that once a day, if that. Yet it's been going strong for a while now. Queen's Waltz and the old End of an Era were much the same. All you really need in an RP is dedication from the players, that's all.

No worries. I'll stick online for an hour or two, then I go to take a snooze.

Then the bear is back at morning. ( Soviet bear, me, not Rohugh, ME! Rar!)

Expect me to give a lengthy post if he starts it today.

True, but the main cause of over posting, in my opinion, is character interaction. they want to be quick about, of else the person will be like "Oh he talked to me, I didn't give a response"

Well, I assume we'll be starting as soon as Strangelove returns, so if you want to join, I suggest you PM him your sheet, as this thread will undoubtedly be locked once the other thread starts up.

I'M BACK!!! Sorry I was gone, work called and asked if I would come in (but I guess they didn't need my help after all). I tried making a quick opening, but didn't like it. But now this will be locked, and the actual Rp will start. Remember to start slow, don't rush into anything.

That's the way I see it as well. Most people think that they have to respond right away. I've seen some RP's since I've been around the forums which have 15-20 post's within the first ten minutes of them starting up. People do need to realise that the forums attract people from all over the world and that means a lot of different time zones. I'm lucky in the fact that although i'm in the uk, I work nights so I'm around a lot while I'm working.

I'm not going to join this so I don't mess it up, but it's just like reading a good story. I'm definitely following it, if nothing else.

Name: Edward Caleb

Age: 30

Race: Human

Gender: Male, African-American

Appearance: Black hair with dark brown eyes and a skinny build.

Weapons: A pocket knife and a 10mm Pistol

Clothes/Armor: A long-sleeved, hoodless black jacket, blue jeans, a dark green polo shirt, and brown boots

Misc: A map of North America, portable short-range radio, his old press badge, Cram, and assorted dried fuit.

Personality: Edward isn't very talkative to strangers, but will open up to people he knows. He also has a very strong sense of justice, which overiddes any other loyalty. Due to his former job as a reporter, he is also very perceptive.

Bio: Edward was born in New York City and worked for a while as a freelance news correspondent in Canada. Eventually, the actions of the US government towards the Canadians convinced Edward that the US had abandoned its ideals, wich caused him to side with the rebels. While not the best fighter, he is good at sneaking around, and his press badge helps to lessen suspicion during sabotage missions.

Well, I won't move to the US for the sake of an RP ;) And in my experience, stuff like that can work if people a.) don't rush ahead of others who are slower with posting, and b.) don't toss it because they get bored with the pace. I'm involved in an epically large RP plot on a WoW-based forum that's still going strong even though some writers often don't have time to post for several days. If you like the plot, you just stick to it, even if that means you have to wait a bit. And, like others have said, you don't need to answer to every post concerning your character right away. If there are a few posts between your partner's and your, just put their name in brackets at the top of your post and everyone'll know who's meant with it.
