Canadian Game Case Cover

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 11:09 pm

I bought the game for Playstation 3 from Futureshop in Canada, and much to my surprise, the game cover was not in its case. Yes, the game was brand new. The cover will not fit inside the case, and I have already destroyed a bit of the case trying to get it inside. I didn't even play the game when I got it home; my mind was severely boggled at how a major game studio/publisher would not already have the cover inside the case.

I assure you that I will never purchase another Bethesda product, as it is evident that you care nothing for my business. It honestly reminds me of the time when I was a kid and I got imitation Lego and had to literally assemble the plastic pieces together before being able to create with it.

It may seem like an over reaction over something as trivial as the case, but it really does seem like a lack of any type of professionalism.

It is not Bethesda's fault that your game you bought from a store did not have a cover, when other people do have them, the missing element in this equation is the store you bought it at.

Blame the store for selling you a game without a cover, that's not Bethesda's fault.

Actually, it is a common issue with people in Canada and I have seen many other posts on different forums about it. It is not a case of a specific faulty case.

I actually have the same issue. The game cover is literally a slip of paper that doesn't even fit into the box.

The WAT? Can you please elaborate a bit more? I didn't quite catch that, dumb as I may be

EDIT: Sorry, now I get It - It's not really Beth's fault, my ME II had the same issue.

As a Canadian my launch day 360 version came the same way. I think it was done the way it was to cover the additional French instruction booklet that wouldn't fit in the case. Weird but whatever, this game rules.

And you are in Canada as well. This is just...stupid. I can't even begin to fathom why they did this. It may seem like such a trivial thing to rant about but it is so mind boggling why they would do such a thing. It's an anomaly, I just need to know.

Alright, don't buy games from the hardest working developers, with some of the greatest games in history under their belt. It's not our problem if you do something stupid like that over something as small as this.

I bought the PC version from GameStop on launch day and it came the same way. I think it has something to do with the included map, my guess is that Bethesda distributed all the components separately and it was left to the retailer to assemble and shrink wrap the game. That said mine fit just fine and was just a minor annoyance.

Cool story bro. I'm going back to playing one of the best games I've ever played. Have fun with your silly cases.

You think the game case is a problem. Try playing the game on ps3 after 6 mb go by as you blink your eyes...

I never said this was an issue for me, I love the game so far. I just thought it was rather odd that the game cover wasn't actually attached to the case.

OK well explain why the cover will not physically fit into the case...

I believe they made the covers a bit to large and didn't want to spend the money to reprint them so just hastily stuck the cover around the case and then pokerface'd.

?????????????????????????????????

How did you get the game?

I have 2 versions of Skyrim.

One I got for 360 from EB games in Canada and one for PS3 I had shipped to me from futureshop canada (because futureshop also gave a free steelbox to pre-orders, which is nice!). I had the paper outside the PS3 case when it arrived in the mail... stuck in in to the PS3 case fine. I assumed it was out separate because Futureshop was shipping first orders with steelboxes... makes no difference either way.

BTW your complaint would be a futureshop complaint (quite obviously) not a bethesda complaint. I haven't seen anyone who got one from EB with the paper cover separate, ergo must be a Futureshop shipping issue, and again I'd suspect it had something to do with the steelbox offer from futureshop.

Im from Ontario Canada, and i can say this happened to me to with my 360 version. Want to know what i did? I opened the case, bent it back so the plastic cover (The plastic that covers the paper that has the title of the game on it) pushed out, and then i slipped the paper in behind. Problem solved. Don't know whats so hard about that?
I also got my copy from a store called RadioShack, so its not a Futureshop problem, it is indeed caused by Bethesda. I dont even consider this to be a problem? Just an inconvenience having to put it inside the plastic. Took me all of 30 seconds to fix <_<

Being from Canada, I bought my game, and the cover came with the game and was not hard to fit inside.

Its the store you bought it from.

Just to elaborate on my post, I live in Toronto, On, Canada, and Eb Games and GameStop are the exact same company, so it is not just Future Shop.
