Cannibalism (as good as) CONFIRMED! Oh YES!

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 3:25 am

DAMN I WANT THIS GAME NOW!!!!

£55 already sitting in my PSN wallet just begging to be spent!

Was worried Bethesda had ditched the cannibal ability in the game. But this puts my concerns to rest:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paYU1neP3xM

Though there was actually a cannibal ability in Skyrim, though more hidden and had to have a specific ring equiped to do it. Great its in Fallout 4.

Any other Fallout cannibal fans happy about this news?

I never played as a cannibal before. Is there that much that goes into it to make you so excited? I'm genuinely curious

well i was hoping cannibal perk would not need endurance at all. So my plans need some work to do. Altough this gives me chance to rework my character and ponder what sort of fella i want to play.

Can't wait till i can play my main character and chomp my way.

http://www.gamesas.com/user/955518-imitenotbecrazy/ well cannibal perk is nice for either in roleplaying value or the ability to have 1 more source to restore health. Other than that it does not have any benefits. Still we love it and use it.

its been a fate decider in many situations.....especially during earlier levels in the heavy gunfights when supplies are low and things look dire. Barely scraqe through a battle against 10 raiders and you know there is half a dozen others just waiting in ambush......that's 10 feasts that add up to some pretty good health replenishment before moving out.

Great survival method, and brilliantly represents the craziness of a post-apocalyptic world. Awesome perk.

Why?

Personally I just watched the season 2 finale of Hannibal and I don't know how to feel about this.

Nice, i was worried they might not include it.

I hope there are cannibalism related quests and dialogues.

One of my favorite Fallout 3 roleplays was based around the Cannibal perk. She grew up on the streets of DC, feral, fending for herself. She could only heal through Cannibalism. I gave her the perk right away, via the console, to make this work. She never left the DC area the whole game. She lived off Raiders and any other humanoid who was unlucky enough to get too close. I'd never taken the perk before and didn't know what to expect. But it was actually a lot of fun.

"The flesh of your fellow man can provide . . . . "

While I'm tempted to think the end of that sentence is just "nourishment," it's leaving me to wonder if there's some greater benefit to taking the Cannibal perk. It's the Endurance 8 perk, going by the chart, so it takes quite an investment to get it. I have to imagine there's more to it than just "eating human flesh gives HP."

Personally I prefer it to be a Carnivore perk so any meat gives added benefit instead of just humans. Also, there should be a non-cannibal option so the feed option doesn't appear when you are looting a raider's corpse.for those players that don't want to eat the other other white meat. After all, we are limited to 10 Endurance perks.so the more benefit we can get from each perk the better.

I don't uinderstand this "carnivore" perk. Why would it take anyone any effort at all to eat wildlife? Cannibalism I understand but random meat? Just another one of GK's "speculations" I think is a big joke

Well, if you want a non-cannibal option, just don't take the Cannibal perk.

Since I enjoy playing the goody two shoes type I highly doubt I'll ever grab a cannibal perk... As in the other Fallout's, I don't foresee any problems finding supplies.. As a nosy person who enjoys checking out every container in every corner of the game world, I expect I will be overloaded with extreme amounts of food stuffs. It was pretty funny though that the video focused quite a lot on cannibalism. Made me wonder.. are there any other games that allow you to be a cannibal?

In Skyrim, cannibalism buffed your maximum health and regeneration rate. Wouldn't be surprised if it was something like that this time, too, and each rank of the perk increases the buff you get from feasting on your fellow man.

I've never really used the cannibalism perk before, but I may go that route this time. I'm planning on my first playthrough of Fallout 4 to be slightly unconventional to get out of the sneak/thief/sniper role that I've had in most of my recent games (finally got around to trying Dishonored etc). This should hopefully give the game some more life so I won't get bored doing similar things to how I've done other games, and expose me to parts of the game I wouldn't normally see using my "comfort zone build".

I just hope that Fallout 4 has the hardcoe mode option (eat, drink, sleep)
Cannibalism will be little useful for me if do not have this option ...

If your character has picked the cannibal perk and you have a knife or something in your inventory you should be able to slice off a few "chops" for laters.

Picking my SPECIAL attributes are always the hardest. I know i'm going heavy into perception since its the main perk for accuracy and sniper rifles. I miss my Gobi desert sniper rifle. :(

Well, I've never wanted to play a Werewolf or Vampire in TES and I've never wanted to be a Cannibal in FO. Don't see that changing. Good guys don't eat other people. Wasted Perk IMO.

You had an additional second perk for Cannibal in Fallout: New Vegas called "Dine and Dash". This did actually let you store the meat in your inventory as opposed to eating right there and then. However it still did the original eating animation when you chose Dine and Dash!

Hopefully Fallout 4 does a more appropriate animation if Dine and Dash returns.
