Only for Bosmers

So other races don't have mouth and can't eat their kind?

it fits dark brotherhood

Eh...actually it doesn't, if you have the DLC for the lair in TES IV, you find a journal were the guy, who is appearently a relative (damn the main character's family's weird) tried to start a vampire version of the Dark Brotherhood and got disowned by Sithis for it stating and I quote, "We were meant to take blood, spill blood, but never taste it." as a result, bunch of them were slaughter by the Black Hand.

Very true. Nice addition. And it is really weird that the PC has a bunch of "inheritance from dead relatives" for the purpose of having more DLC. That puts at least 2 crazy weird relatives in Oblivion. It was always funny to me that I was related to some great mage and an evil Dark Brotherhood guy on the same character.

However, on a lore note, keep in mind you can be a vampire in the current DB in Oblivion like Vicente Valtieri. I'm sure he just avoided feeding from contract targets to avoid "the wrath of Sithis" for taking some of "his" blood. You just have to be very careful about it, I guess...

how different is vamparism from cannibalism?

They're very different, if you're a cannibal you don't have to deal with the annoying side effects of being a vampire, you just eat people, and vampires are vampires.(don't think I have to explain that one.)

We still don't know if Vampires are in the game (despite lore supporting the existence of them in Skyrim) but we do know that Zombies will be in which does qualify as cannibals.

Cannibalism sounds perfectly suited to some sort of necromancy cult.

Aren't necromancers animating the dead instead of eating them? Having your materials all eaten away wouldn't really improve your research.

Yeah, for sure. It would fit in well into the image I have in my head of a savage Nord or Orc barbarian.

I was thinking that, too. Plus, since Lichdom seems to be the goal of most practitioners of the necromantic arts (why is beyond me, it sounds like an unpleasant process all around) I think they would fear being next in the larders.

Besides, isn't cannibalism an ultra-rare practice?

I would consider it cannibalistic because it is one sentient being consuming another sentient being.

But that's not the definition of canibalism.

Not aging is one of the more pleasant effects Lichdom is suppose.

In lore I think only Bosmer have been cannibals but there would be no reason for why a Nord couldn't eat someone.
Maybe Bosmer will get a cannibal perk in the beginning of the game, and other races could pick it when they level?

Considering cannibalism hasn't been in any of the previous Elder Scrolls, and that it's a pretty taboo subject as is, and it would bring pretty much nothing to gameplay, and that Todd Howard stated "Skyrim won't be as violent as Fallout 3"...

NO CANNIBALISM :)

Only if there are fava beans

But a real answer would be only in a well-written quest..or for necro's. Other than that, I see no point other than easter eggs.

I like the idea. I mean, imagine being low on potions in the wild, walking across a bandit camp, slaying the bandits, and eating them to heal yourself. It sounds exhilarating, though I'll probably only do it with Bosmers and Orcs.

I personally think this element fits the Fallout IP more. I wouldn't be against it if it were done right in Skyrim though.

Na. It made sense in Fallout for hardcoe players. Scavenging the wasteland and all that. But I don't feel it fits TES. Unless you are a vampire

Tell that to the White Glove Society. They lived smack dab in the middle of New Vegas and quite a few of them had a taste for their customers. And as for it not fitting into TES...read up on some lore. People eating people isn't that revolutionary, its just never been put into a game before.

Middle of winter, trapped in the mountain pass with your hunger bar telling you that you're about to die of hunger, and you eye a bandit that you killed a few days ago when you first got here. Or you're just a serial killer that wanders around Skyrim. Maybe you want to join one...strange...cult. Or maybe you're one evil alchemist who cooks up potions with body parts. Its not like adding it to the game woudln't take away from anything. Even if you never rp as a bad guy, or a crazy person who eats people, you could still go on quests to find and take care of npc cannables.

I think that there should be some sort of penalty for cannibalism.
For example, people that see you eat humanoid flesh will start to dislike you (unless they are Bosmer since it seems that they are cool with it) since they don't like the idea that they can be next on your menu.

That's how they did it in FO:3, I thought it made sense.

I rarely ever do it, but I think it would fit in more with TES than Fallout since I always play a Khajiit, and well, since a Khajiit is part cat, I wouldn't be put off as much by it.

Who the hell cares if I'm a Bosmer? If I want to eat somebody, I should be allowed to. Why the [censored] not?

It doesn't take any special knowledge to eat a human either, everyone can do it! Why make it a perk?!

On that note you also shouldn't have to be a Bosmer, as not everyone who wants to be a cannibal wants to be one. (I, myself, am planning to be a Dunmer.)
