Cannibalism

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 3:59 pm

What do you mean? The bosmer are all cannibals. At least the ones in Valenwood, but I'm sure there are those who are still practice the Green Pact outside Valenwood.

I say it should be inherent in all bosmer, perks for everyone else.

Why the [censored] would the Dark Brotherhood leave such evidence behind? The DB isn't evil stupid, they're just assassins! I swear, OB has turned people's heads into mush. Ugh...

I never said evil in my post once. But your right. The DB are saints and never make any exceptions for clients or for bonuses.

Heavily implied. Also, I've never ever said they were saints. They're assassins who kill for money, not to eat people.

Like I said again, Oblivion has turned people's heads into mush. Now, tell me, why is cannibalism perfect for the Dark Brotherhood, who strive to keep themselves secret, unless the contractor wishes to make a statement?

Maybe in a lore sense.. not that there needs to be a "perk" for it, or that YOU can eat people, but a group of enemies that do.. that'd be cool.

Would be cool if there were a group of cultists or something that would inhabit a few dungeons, and make hints at the fact that they are cannibals.

I know they are assassins. But alot can happen in 200 years. Thats up to Bethesda what they do with that faction anyways. Not someone in a forum.

No, actually 200 years is a short amount of time in TES. Read the histories of Tamriel, things actually move more slowly than you think.

Also, if you're going to argue, try to defend your position of why cannibalism is perfect for the DB, instead of trying to get off with a statement that pretty much says "it's up in the air, so why do we even care?" because your point is also now null and void.

The idea is influenced by the game prototype and the supernatural episode "jump the shark".

I like the idea of cannibalism, it would be neat if it was more than just used for eating/surviving, but if it was a way to gain power. In many cultures, it is believed you gain the power of your enemies if you eat their flesh. What if there was a secret ghoul society/faction you could join that would teach (infect?) you ghoul abilities? That master ghouls can eat the flesh of their enemies and not only have their knowledge, abilities, but can even change into the victim to impersonate them to a point that even their families/friends cannot tell? The early missions can start you off teaching you to regain health/mana, later levels could allow you to buff up a few skills temporarily to match the skills of the last person eaten, even use a few mage abilities for a while, then the finale level could allow you to transform into the the last person you have eaten with all their natural skills/abilities(including mages). However, the alternate you would not level up, you cannot turn into someone a higher level than you and you can only store a limited amount of forms to change into). I also would have your true form start to turn more hideous as you become more of a ghoul.

I can see so much evil fun in this, killing an NPC and taking over his/her life, or just use it as a quick disguise to get away. Then you would have people paranoid if someone is a ghoul or not, which reminds me of the great assassin level in oblivion "who done it?".

perks are in and it was in fallout 3 so.............

And yet it's been confirmed for a month that the perks will be different than Fallout 3's so your arguement is invalid.

No, it had its place in Fallout but not in TES
In fallout, food is a somewhat rare ressource, but it's rather abundant in TES

Wherewolves are canibals. Besides, why on hell do you want to be canibals in Skyrim?

I think cannibalism should be reserved for games like Fallout 3, or at least a game set in Valenwood as Wood Elves actually do practise cannibalism.

ever heard of the dommer party? or those othe rpeople that got stuck out in those cold mountains on that plane.... Cold temperature = hunger = weakness= hungrier= cannibalism....skyrims quite cold.... animals in cold environments need to eat alot of meat to stay warm. the more meat u eat teh warmer you should be in skyrim thats a cool thing they shuld put. but ey it should restore health so if ur fighting u shuld be able to do it. it should give you some sort of Bad disposition or karma like in mass effect. the TES Games really missin the boat on the whole good or evil thing. You never really get treated differently if your evil. not like in fable or Mass effect. so it would come at a cost. it shuld be one of the perks they've put in.

What? You do realize the bosmer in Valenwood do cannibalize enemies and family? It's part of the Green Pact; no harming and eating of plant-life, and that you must eat everything from a kill. Family is allowed to join in.

Cannibalism has its place in TES

Maybe it's just weird old me, but I don't quite see the fun of cannibalism asa game mechanic, and I don't think it's really worth the higher rating I expect it could give.

hey bro, there was cannibalism in morrowind. there was a whole cult devoted to dagoth ur that involved corpus disease and self cannibalization.

if by TES, you mean Oblivion, then yes, but if you are saying the elder scrolls, then no.

TES lore>fallout lore

I think you are confused, we can kill, pillage, torture, slaughter, and half of dozen other things in games without fear of getting an M rating, its only if you show nudity(rolls eyes) that the esrb overreacts.

.

Also cannibalism doesn't really seem to mix well with the medieval fantasy setting of an RPG game, at least not from a player character's perspective. It fits more with the Fallout series because it's set in an apocalyptic world where food and water is scarce and humans are having to eat unsual sources of food just to stay alive.

If people really want cannibalism in Skyrim then I'm not going to argue with their opinion, but I personally don't think it would fit the game.

I think it would depend on your character, it might not fit with your character but for others, such as my own, it would fit well.

Maybe, I don't know quite how it works, and thought that eating other human flesh might be a limit. Still, I don't see how this could be fun. I found it hilarious when someone suggested a cannibalism guild.

There is already cannibalism? Just pick up human heart or flesh ingredients and consume?

Actually I kind of wish that bethesda would go for a M rating, that way their hands would not be tied. Its one of my gripes with oblivion, it felt a bit more tame than morrowind, of course that could just be me.

yes, but doesn't it only count as Cannibalism if it is the same species eating each other? the act of any animal consuming members of its own type or kind, is the definition i believe. so that really isn't a big deal if a orc eats a human, or human eat a elf.
