Cannibalism

Godling Skyrim has a Pegi 18 rating. I think its a safe bet the game will be M.

Well, that's a good sign hopefully.

Careful with the cannibalism, it turns Nords into http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Bloodmoon:Draugr#Draugr.

Are we so desperate to talk about Skyrim that we've been reduced to talking about cannabilism?

Cannibalism is a big taboo in Skyrim. Accordin to folk legend, draugrs are people who ate the dead. At least thats what they said in bloodmoon.

Why eat people when you can wait? It serves no purpose. It was suitable for Fallout but I can't imagine it being inplemented in Skyrim. Atleast not perk wise. I'm sure you can still eat mort flesh, human hearts, and other cannibalistic ingredients.

No, actually 200 years is a short amount of time in TES. Read the histories of Tamriel, things actually move more slowly than you think.

Also, if you're going to argue, try to defend your position of why cannibalism is perfect for the DB, instead of trying to get off with a statement that pretty much says "it's up in the air, so why do we even care?" because your point is also now null and void.

dude.. ur kidding right... 200 years is 200 years there is no such thing as 200 years in TES vs real life. its still 200 years. from 500-700 AD in human time nothing much happened. 1800-2000 we went from making crappy rifles to super snipers and guided missles. infrared. we went from slaves to people getting arrested for hate crimes. Depends on which 200 years your talking about. these 200 are pretty dang drastic considering its after the most important elder scrolls event so far. the death of an emperor with no heirs who's last heirs turns into a statue leaving the empire in a crappy state. morrowind gets half blwon up and 2 provinces secede, civil war in skyrim. so i think cannibalism makes sense because its something that you can just do. Its not historically relevant its just a thing some people do. In this game it makes since in this freezing cold climate maybe if ur really hungry and its on hardcoe mode you can eat the flesh of ur fallen enemies to keep urself fed and warm.

Yes. I like to drink of the life-blood of my enemies.

Err... in the game. Obviously.

And technically, TES III: Bloodmoon features cannibalism.

I think that cannibalism should be reserved for Were-beast, vampires, alchemy and any quest that involve one's transformation into a Draugr. The off-hand ability to eat humanoid flesh should be discouraged given Skyrims mythology concerning Draugrs.

Vampirism is a fine form of cannibalism, quote from Fallout 3, blood ties quest.

Cannibalism works well in the harsh post apocalyptic environment of Fallout, but I don't think it belongs in TES. Vampirism is enough.

YESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYES!!!
You can't be a proper necromancer unless you sample some of your work. :D

Seriously though, I think that it would be good if we had flesh from all humanoid races (and Deadra) available for us.
If we want, we could eat them and if we want, we could create some mean potions from them.

Yes. Here's why.

If I'm stuck in the wilds with no escape, no food and a freshly killed bandit beside me...do you really expect me to just lay down and die instead of eating some really tough, salty and overall terrible tasting meat (I don't know why I know that either...)? Add the fact that I and only I can save the world from certain doom to that and the answer becomes "Hell no!".

Yeah, Cannibalism should be in. If you don't like the idea of eating people, here's a solution...are you ready for this? It's gonna blow your mind...just don't.

Bosmer. Nords. Hmm... I guess what we should be asking is "Do you want some perks to have racial bonuses?" - "Yes, some", "Yes, all", "No", "Other"... I think cannibalism should have a significant downside to it, one you don't easily ignore. With a perk you may be able to reduce the downside, but never get rid of it. A Bosmer, even if religion, don't get a significant inrease (maybe 10-15% extra), but rather gain other benefits.

But only if it actually serves a purpose. If there is no need for "food and drink to stay alive", there shouldn't be a need for "cannibalism for fun" either.

Well if it is implemented then those who don't want to use it don't really have to while those that want can do it.
As long as it isn't forced upon the player I see no reason against it, besides I wanna live up to my Bosmer characters ideology.

No. It falls under "stupid evil" and fits better in FO. I see no point.

So anyone care to explain how canibalism would be a fun thing to do? I don't even know how you are expecting this mechanic to work.

In FO3/NV we knee down and eat off the fallen enemy.
Could add some "human flesh" to the inventory too.
And fun? I dunno, why is it fun to focus on alteration? Or blade? Or light armor? Or jumping? Or using water breathing? Or using poisons?
For roleplaying purposes.

I have a doubt, I would like my american friends enlighten me:

In europe we have a rating system (PEGI) based in age (3,7,12,16,18).

In USA the high ratings are M (Mature) and A (advlt), right?

#1: But what about ages in american system rating games?
#2: What are the major differences between M rating and A rating?
#3: What is the age at which a person ceases to be considered "Mature" and becomes "advlt" in USA?
#4: If we have canibalism and the possibility to kill kids in Skyrim, the game will have A rating?

And a question to my friends in Europe:

#5: I rebember that TES IV: Oblivion in USA obtained M rating, and in Europe obtained PEGI 16. But i see that Skyrim trailer is now PEGI 18, but only "M" in USA. What is the reason for this apparent mismatch?

EDIT: Nevermind. I find another topic talking about this stuff. Thanks anyway.
