OK so call me a noob whatever but will someone kindly explain what cannon is
A "Cannon" is a big shooty-gun.
"Canon" is in this context the official line/the official story. IE - the Good ending of Fallout 1 is Canon, as its the offiial story that future games based on. The "bad" endings are non canon.

Canon is what is "official" in the game series... The developers of each game have authority to decide what's canon and what is not.
