I recently reinstalled Oblivion (on windows 7 for the first time) and i cannot drop items. I have literally pressed every button possible, checked all bindings, reset all bindings, to no avail. Anyone have any ideas as to what my problem is?

Have you tried dragging and dropping the item from the inventory screen (making sure you have enough space to drop the item)? Also make sure that the item you want drop isn't a quest item as they can't be dropped.

Yup, I've dragged and dropped, tried dropping steel shortswords, leather briastplates, torches, rings, scrolls, everything really. If I accidently pick up too much an become over-encumbered i have to load my last save. Getting kind of rediculous.

So what exactly happens when you attempt to drag and drop? Do you get an on-screen message? Or does the item simply not leave your inventory?

Apparently im mentally disabled. Didn't have to use shift when i had it on vista, but ok. Thanks broseph. :foodndrink:
