Cannot finish Main Quest in Skyrim. : V - Skyrim

Hello mazeppa,

with that trick I tried it too, but my main quest broke later again ( the sequence where I should learn dragon fall didn't work).
Just one try, no details and I have no idea if that would happen to you too.

Thanks for the useful info. I tried reloading a save from the previous quest ("the wall of alduin") but when I get to "the throat of the world" it is still broken... Giving up a 46-hour character is very frustrating, that's all the game time I could afford since the game came out... :ermm:

I'm going to have a go at uninstalling-reinstalling the game and then reloading from the end of the previous quest. I'll keep you posted...

perhaps you missunderstand something. There are 3 (I think) scripted invisible barriers that should disappear when using "clear skies" on them.

Agree with that, they should be: the archway in the courtyard at high hrothgar; the entrance to the wooden bridge halfway up to the peak; and between the two high stones just before the clearing on top where Paarturnax is (or is supposed to be)... Their purpose obviously being blocking a player with a high restoration level from "healing his way up" to the peak, through the magical blizzard, without being assigned the actual quest.

I understand that, and you're right about that. However someone mentioned wall. There are no "walls" to be moved or cleared. Again look at the video clip to see what I'm talking about.

Uninstalling-reinstalling does not help... How is a bug like this triggered? How do I know how far back I need to reload?

@mazeppa: I can't give you much, but you are not alone. I am still in the same missery and I won't give up this fast - it is also my first character and I am (obviously) still playing it.
@gamesas: Some kind of support would be nice.

Next thing I'm gonna try is reload a savegame from 2-3 game hours back ( a few quests) and see if anything changes when I get to the throat of the world...

Maybe this is due to playing the main quest "slowly" over a few months, many updates and patches being installed in the meantime, thus generating a conflict of sorts?

I am not sure what your are trying to do but......

If you are at the part they gave you the Clear sky Shout...you need to turn around ...Use the Shout to clear the FOG ...make you way UP the mountain..the Fog will close in around you , so be careful as you Fight your way to the Top of the Mountain.
Hope this helps....

Hello @All,

gamesas answered relativly quickly, but it seams to be a default answere.
I did as they said ( waiting/sleeping 30+ in-game-days, save and load) but nothing changed (like I expected).
I answered them but my mail client didn't sent the mail and now my free days are skyrim-free (I've now sent it, after noticing the failure of my programm).
Let's see what they answere, but ... I worry that they won't be very helpfull.

Other topic/idea: there is a console command to reset a cell "resetinterior", is there a version usable for the throat of the world and/or the backjard of high hrothgar?
