Cannot get into Legal District

01476 and united kingdom ps network.
Have you managed to recreate it yet?
Funny how it's happening to hundreds of people globally and it's never happened to anyone in the company proof playing it.
What are the odds

Just want to add that this also happens in the PC version. No idea how to recreate the issue though.

Thanks for continuing to provide information... we continue to look into it.

If possible, it'd be good to know what model PS3 you have, (first generation, slim, current model) as well as the current version of the OS you're running (4.41, etc).

Also general information about your play through would be good to know. Are you playing through the level before heading into the Estate map (where Timsh is located). Are you playing through stealthily (sleep darting and hiding bodies), or going through and killing everyone.

Thanks

I'll investigate into whether this is happening on Xbox tomorrow, but it seems that it isn't. If it is, I'll try to provide as much info as I can (what I did differently, etc etc) and play each playthrough as differently as I can to try and replicate the issue. If anyone could tell me exactly what they did in their playthrough to cause this, it'd make it infinitely easier on me and speed up this process for everyone. PM me if you wish.

I'm also having the same issue. I have the 1st gen PS3, running the current PS update. I was doing the playthrough stealthy. Would it help to email you my save. Instead of trying to duplicate it.

The only 'oddity' I noticed immediately before I had this problem (PC version) was hearing loud gunshots in the Legal District when I was on my way back to the waterfront (presumably Billie Lurke being shot?). After this, I was unable to access the next mission - even after restarts. Mentioning just in case there's a connection there.

I'm not sure what info you want, ask me a specific question. I tried multiple runthroughs from different save file, taking different routes, stealth runthrough, combative runthrough etc.
It doesn't make any difference at all.
As soon as you hit the first door on the legal district ( 2nd dlc level) it goes into the already aforementioned problem.
Do you need more detail of what it looks like or what? In happy to give you any information you want if it helps fix it. Like I said I don't know how you would recreate it, I don't know what the common denominator is? It's not country or Internet provider or ps network so I don't know. It would be strange it happening on ps3 and pc but not xbox, but that seems to happen a lot. Anyway post back on whAt exact info you need, any responses on this thread are emailed to me so il respond asap.
Thanks for at least someone trying to fix it. Cudos

Hey are you getting anywhere, I mean it's been months now, can you please update us with how you have been getting on with fixing it. The time scale here is starting to get out of hand, there are literally hundreds of people out of pocket with a faulty product so we atleast deserve an update.

It's now been almost 3 months since this problem was originally reported, and still no word on a solution/fix.

Kudos on the customer service performance.

Can I just say it is absolutley disgraceful that you told us you would look into it, and now the last piece of dlc is about to go on sale, so you clearly have enough time and resources to do that, but not to refund, replace or fix the faulty merchandise you have sold thousands of people. It's fraud and theft and pretty low that your now just ignoring us completely. I hope you see the irony next time you get screwed over.

Well not to sound pushy but we've been told that before. Can you explain exactly what you have done in the last 3 months to move things forward and also explain what your actually doing now, how long you expect it to take and why.
I think that's fair to ask these questions due to the extreme lack of actuall information being given out. Like I said, now everyone knows the next dlc is about to drop it's kinda like kicking us when we are down along with putting time pressure on us to get this sorted before the developers move onto something else. Because of the length of time and fact we are being told ziltch it feels like a stalling tactic to use up time until you can tell us there are no developers working on it anymore. Can you assure us this won't happen.?

I wonder why it's always like this with Bethesda and the PS3. I mean, it's almost a tradition at this point. The Fallout 3 DLC, The Fallout New Vegas performance issues, The Skyrim (game breaking) performance issues and the Skyrim DLC. And every single time Bethesda answers every inquiry with stonewalling, arrogance and borderline lies. Makes you wonder how much money they're actually taking from Microsoft, to justify treating 1/3 of their customer base this poorly.

And to top it off they're making Arkane Studios look bad, who really made an awesome game.

Which I would gladly support by bying more DLC, if it would only work properly. Doesn't look like I'll be buying The Brigmore Witches :(

You cant blame Bethesda, blame Sony.PS3 is the worst platforms of three competing platforms because of very different (and ugly) CPU architecture. No one forced you to choose PS3 as your gaming platform.

Don't start that console-war B.S. We can blame Bethesda for releasing games that aren't properly designed for the respective console. It was obvious with Fallout 3, obvious with New Vegas, obvious with Skyrim, and obvious here.

If they can't properly make a game for the console, they shouldn't make the game.

Give me an example of one other Producer, ONE, that has released games that didn't work as good on PS3 compared to other systems.

probably the core games getting more testing/polishing than DLC's

I can give you the names of games that have serious issues on PS3 compared to the other platforms : BF3,Crysis,The Darkness and thats only from the top of my head

And I've played we'll over twenty titles in the last few years that had absolutely NO technical problems on the PS3. As far as Beth games goes, I've had few problems (at least nowhere near as many or as serious as some here have had) with Skyrim, and NONE with Dishonored. Let's leave the platform bashing out of this.

Downloaded the lastest update today. Don't know how long it's been out, as I find myself not wanting to even check anymore.

The game still freezes when I try to enter the legal district. This starting to get more than a little infuriating.

This is not a console war discussion. Bethesda games getting sub-par support on PS3 is not, nor will it ever be Sony's fault. If Bethesda/Arkane Studios releases games on the platform, they should

be prepared to support the games properly, and more importanly, test them properly before release. Period.

So I downloaded the new patch, ran the game, and YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED!

It still doesn't work at all...

In fact, there doesn't seem to be any indication that patch 1.4 actually did anything to remedy this problem. But oh boy, at least we have support for the Brigmore Witches. Too bad I won't be buying it.

I even tried competely deleting all installed data to try from scratch, and ONLY installed DIshonored itself and the Knife of Dunwall. Nothing. Same problem.

Can we get some kind of indication that someone in Bethesda can do something about this? Or are we just being swept under the rug since we already gave our money? Can I have my $10 back please?

Oh, and here's a video someone made on youtube demonstrating the problem!

OK, time to revive the thread...

I've registered myself on the forum & this is my first post, just to get this damn problem dealt with once & for all...

And I hadn't played this still until now because I was waiting for the Brigmore Witches DLC to be released, &, oh, what an annoyingly nice surprise...

The same problem happens here, and, in my case, it's happening TWICE because I own both the UK Special Edition Disc version (BLES 01674 Code) + all DLC's purchased on the Spanish PSN store, AND the US PSN Store's Digital version of the game + all the DLC's (incl. the Brigmore Witches DLC in this case)... I run the game on a PS3 Slim with 4.46 OS...

That's precisely where it's happening. And I'm playing this stealthily (sleep darting, choking & hiding bodies).

When all DLC's are installed, as soon as I unlock & open the door leading to the Estate Map where Timsh is located, the loading screen just hangs & greezes the console, forcing me to hard reset the PS3...

When uninstalling the other DLC's & just leaving the Knife Of Dunwall DLC, with the BLES 01674 Disc the DLC still freezes on the loading screen at the same point.

Whenever playing with the US Digital Download version of the game, with only this DLC installed, the DLC loads but the game is indeed broken: Billie Lurks shows up & sometimes there's some dialogue, sometimes there isn't. At times there's soundtrack sounds, sometimes there aren't any. As soon as I try to blink, there's no sound at all &, as Tluav Boy mentionned, any attempt to load the journal, read a note or interact with any NPC (like the first guy with the death's head mask, under the wood floor - when entering the balcony on the upper right), it just hard freezes the game...

I've also tried uninstalling & reinstalling the game, using a different save, and still the same problem...

According to all the info I've read on the net, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY TO KEEP ON PLAYING THIS ON PS3!!!!! And it looks like there is no way to play this also on PC... It looks like XBOX users are the only ones who've been able to play this the whole way...

Too bad I've already purchased the Brigmore Witches DLC, I still can't play it, because I don't want to spoil it with the contents of a DLC I'm unable to play. Simple as that.

And the most incredible thing is that this is an issue that HASN'T BEEN ADDRESSED FOR MONTHS, it's been 4 months since the KOD DLC has been released & it hasn't been addressed in PS3!!!!!!!

So, you guys at Bethesda & Arkane Studios, WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT IT????

And, according to the info I've read last week, you plan to release a GOTY edition of this with everything on it in SUCH A BUGGY STATE?????

Sorry to say this, but you better sort this out fast, because this is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to treat your customers like this.

Enough said.
