Cannot get into Legal District

Post » Thu Aug 27, 2015 11:34 am

So I've been playing the new DLC, and no matter what I do, the game crashes when I attempt to enter the Legal District during the second mission. I've tried deleting the DLC and reinstalling it, deleting and reinstalling the patches, deleting and reinstalling the game, restarting my game save and trying different routes, and nothing. Crashes every time.

I have the U.S. digital version of the game if that matters.

Seriously, this is driving me insane. I LITERALLY cannot play the item I payed for, and there's no way to get a refund. Can I at least get some kind of moderator response or something?

Still no response? I'm just about ready to throw my PS3 out the window.

Without any of the nonexistant help here, I've managed to improve the conditions. By deleting ALL of my DLC and ONLY installing the Knife of Dunwall, I can now get into the Legal District without any issue. However, once inside, the game never stops autosaving, so if I attempt to open my journal, or pause the game, or read a note, the game instantly crashes. Also, there is no sound besides what is considered "effects" (i.e. footsteps, gun shots, etc.). No voices, music, or...anything.

Is this going to be addressed, or did I pay $10 for a digital lemon?

Oh man, this makes Comcast Tech Support look blindingly-flash. Nothing's started magically working yet, if anyone was curious.

Ok, so on my own, I've done your jobs for you. Using someone else's save, who was already in the second portion of the legal district, I have discovered that ANY saving in that area causes the system to lock-up, including the initial Autosave when you enter the area.

I've isolated the problem. Now please, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, address the issue!

This could sometimes happen in the main game (crashing on attempting to enter the next district). That had something to do with a corrupt save file.

I know it's a pain in the rear, but in the same situation I think I would try starting a new game from the beginning, in case it's the same problem again. I hope you get it sorted soon.

As I stated before:

I've been continuously trying that. I'm on my 8th run since getting the DLC and nothing's changed.

I have exactly the same problem. And have tried the same things you tried, with the same results.

I have the Norweagian/European BD version of Dishonered.

So much for my fix-it ideas!

It's now happened to me too - except it's moving from the Legal District to the final mission in the Flooded District. This is the first time it's happened (my fourth play-through) and I have no idea what I did differently to cause this.

I have had the exact same problem, when moving through the first door of the legal district it freezes when loading or let's me thru with an unending loading that causes a crash upon any movement or action. I have the European version and am from Belfast n. Ireland.
I've been in contact with Sony and they are unwilling to help unless Bethesda supply me with a reference number. I in turn emailed Bethesda and await reply.
Are neither of these giant companies going to stand up to their customer support promises?
One company creates and supplies faulty products , the other sells them. When I ask for a refund or a working copy either side plays me off against the other.
I hope they sort it out soon But I won't hold my breath, why would they? They've already got my money. my dishonored played perfecly from start to Finnish and this has knocked it off it's pedstal for me.thanks for nothing guys.

I'm totally stuck now. I HAVE played the DLC three times already, so it must be something that has borked my end. I returned to an earlier save but it still crashed when trying to start the final mission. Not sure what to about it now.

Believe me, I've dealt with the technical difficulties that are Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, and Skyrim for the PS3, and this is nothing new.

If Bethesda ever does address this, you can expect a response within the span of months.

Sadly it isn't the first time for me either, though it's usually Ubisoft screwing me over.
The thing that really gets me is that as soon as there's a problem I already know exactly how it's going to go, it really makes my blood boil.
I can't stand big companies knowing that there's nothing we can do if they don't help and abusing this. Literally no ownership of fault, trying to pretend it's my ps3 or Internet or some crap when it's happening to hundreds or even thousands of others all in different countries.
Ok rant over, I'll post back on this forum if I get any progress and if you guys do the same that would be great.
Good luck!

10 Days.

It's been 10 Days since I posted this topic, and not ONE response from anyone in Bethesda.

Guess I'm done buying DLC for this game. Shame, seemed like so much fun too.

After a couple of play-throughs without issue, I suddenly had the same problem. No matter what I tried it would crash at the loading screen. I even tried restarting from a game-save I'd made just before that point. Numerous attempts and it would fail. And then, one day (loading from that same game-save), it worked. The loading screen froze for a second at the usual crash-point, then continued. I didn't do anything differently to cause it to fail in the first place, and I didn't do anything differently to fix it either - it just suddenly righted itself. As a result I can't offer any helpful suggestions or even pointers for Arkane in tracking this bug. :(

I didn't realise this was in the PS3 section. I'm playing on PC - it has the same problem as PS3 owners are reporting.

Same thing is happening to me, the game freezes on the loading screen every time I try to enter the legal district.

Redownloading, reinstalling and starting a new save did nothing to prevent this from happening.

Is there any solution to this?

Would be nice if instead of sending PM's to individual users, you could actually post something that's

available for everyone here to read. Maybe make it a pinned topic even. Just a thought.

Ok swing as the guys in charge won't update everyone, I'll do it.
Basically technical support CANT HELP at all, only the developers can fix it.
When asked for an estimate fix time, even in months or years, they can't give us one, and they can't even update us every so often so we know they are actually sorting it out.
So in conclusion anyone who is experiencing this problem ( which Bethesda now admits IS ITS FAULT ) has to wait for an indefinite amount of time, in the dark and is not due any kind of refund or compensation.
Great.
If they had explained this before, even if they had put this in the small print I would not have bothered.
As ever if anyone affected finds a magical fix please stick it on this thread. Thanks

We're investigating save files to see if we can replicate this issue. If you could, please let us know the BLUS code that's on the spine of your Dishonored PS3 case, as well as which PlayStation Store you're connecting to (UK, German, French, etc).

BLES code is 01674, and I connect to the Norwegian(?) PSN Store. Might just be the british one with norwegian text, not sure if there actually is a norwegian localized PSN Store.

Thanks for the response.
