I looked around and performed a search to no avail. I am returning to morrowind after a lengthy vacation from the game. I am using thevsame computer I've used for years with no problem until now.

New games work just great, and I am able to save and the save file is created just fine. But whenever I attempt to load a game, either from the main menu or from a newly created game (in game), the game freezes and forces me to shut down via the task master.

I am on a laptop, windows vista, game and files in a separate c: file, not running out of the program folder.

I tried reinstalling, and running only vanilla morrowind, same problem. Any ideas?
