I recently felt like playing oblivion so i installed it again, i deleted all stray folders left over from my previous install like all the ini's and stuff but when i try to start the game all that happens when i try to start the game is that the screen flickers and then nothing happens. the oblivion.exe process does not even show up when i try to use the oblivion.exe either. anyone else encountered this problem before?

Did you try to reinstall?

Yes ive reinstalled it 5 times, all in different locations and harddrives and i still get the same problem

You deleted the My Documents\my games\oblivion directory?

Yes i did and it still does not start

I had the same problem, when i first started using mods that needed OBSE, used OBL exe instead OBSE loader.exe.

Try creating a shortcut to the game (or use one it already cerated) and set the compatibility settings in the shortcut properties to run as administrator and emulate Windows XP.

Well i tried it but with no luck though :/
