Canon events of Fallout:3 and Fallout:NV

Someone in another thread was wondering if Fallout 3 was canon. Someone else informed them that Fallout 3 was lore but the decisions made were not finalized.

What endings and events from Fallout 3 and NV, including DLC's, do you think are canon? Also if any previous Fallout games have canon ambiguity feel free to add your 2 cents on those also.

Aliens real and tangible or just crazy talk?

House, Caesar or NCR running New Vegas?

Is the Wasteland Survival guide filled with misinformation supplied by a malevolent assistant?

Tons of things may or may not be true in Fallout 4... what do you believe?

We won't likely know for certain.

However, it's safe to assume that the High Karma endings are Canon. If Obsidian has any say, NCR suffered a heavy loss at the Mojove. The Courier likely used the Nukes on both NCR and the Legion, and ran New Vegas with the help of Yes Man. Otherwise, NCR victory.

Considering that it gave you a boost to Survival in New Vegas... probably not.

Id say the lone wanderer was a living saint in fallout 3, the evil path is preeetty cartoonishly evil.

Not really sure about fallout new vegas. Id say that it won't be mentioned in the new fallout game, or just a vauge rumor about the war in the west.

Fallout 2 established a "good" ending for Fallout. Fallout: NV coupled with Fallout 3 established a "good" ending for fallout 2. Two data points don't make a pattern, but there is a slight leaning towards the "good" endings for Fallout Tactics, Fallout NV and Fallout 3.
