Cant bind armors - they auto unbind themselves.

When i bind a body armor to one of the 1-9 keys, the armor automatically unbinds itself when i exit the pipboy.

The mechanic of this is really weird, bear with me:

1) If i equip an armor, bind it , and exit pip boy, the binding automatically dissapears

2) If I bind an armor im not wearing and exit pipboy, the binding works - i can equip and unequip normally.

3) If at any time i enter pipboy, while wearing an armor that is bound to a key, the binding goes away after i exit the pipboy

...what the heck?

When you say "bind" you mean "hotkey" ?

If that's what you mean just open the pip-boy to change clothes, don't hotkey clothes and armor . Problem solved.

In what way is that a "problem solved" ?

The sole purpose of me asking is so that I can spare myself the going through pipboy routine...

Basically, I'm asking a hotkey-related question and you answer "you dont need hotkeys". How very helpful.

Sorry for my utter lack of usefulness.

I shall hang my head in shame and never attempt to help anyone again .

But before I commit Sepukku ....

Hotkeys are mostly for weapons , some people use them for chems.

if it's too much trouble to open the pip-boy to dress your character perhaps the Fallout series is too deep for you .

Is that so? Im using barter, social and combat sets and equip them as the situation calls for.

If you didnt figure out that you could make use of this feature to spare yourself the constant manual equip hassle, then maybe basic logic is too deep for you.

What system? Any mods? Do you possibly have several copies of the same suit in your inventory?

Sounds like a jolly good ol' bug. When it's a Bethesda game: if it doesn't work, live with it.

Try restarting a new game to see if that character has the same problem as your current one.

4GB RAM (3 because using xp 32bit), dual core 3.1 ghz, GeForce 9600 GT. No, I have the same issue even with the winterized power armor and there isnt a copy of that anywhere else.

Started new game, the issue is till there.

However i did isolate the problem and it is a mod called Pipboy remover (makes pipboy invisible and prevents you from accessing it through F1 F2 and F3), which i installed after acquiring the Power Armor, in order to remove the annoying bare left arm.
I suppose my options now are to remove the mod and contend with the bare power armor arm eyesore or find another mod that allows me to set up more keybinds.
